Good and bad genes – I am sure you heard that somewhere. But how is important is genetics REALLY when it comes to weight loss and muscle growth? What are the other determinants and what is the biochemistry behind it? Genetics is indeed a big thing – but not destiny.

But what exactly do people mean with good or bad genetics? What is genetics nevertheless? Why is this important for your physical performance and fitness?

Gaining weight is always a result of a calorie surplus. But some seem to gain weight slower than others – why is that? The answer is a combination out of behavioural, nutritional and genetic factors. Not one of them, but all together are the determinants of why, how and also WHERE you gain weight. Some people tend to save the extra calories on the hips, some on the abdomen and some on the face.

    Yeah I've been skinny my whole life and I could not gain weight no matter how much I eat or train, like my weight just doesn't change.

  • Broo, I have really fast metabolism, I can't gain weight, but lose it very fast. I eat 4 times a day to not lose weight😂

    Un sujet très délicat que la génétique. Une des règles communes qu'on peut avoir quelque soit la génétique, si tu manges beaucoup il faut faire une activité sportive qui te permet d'éliminer le supplément.Bon podcast.👍

    I gave up trying to gain weight lol I stay around 170 I’m also 6’4 my parents are also tall and skinny I guess it’s genetics I do believe in being skinny fat tho it if I were to try and run a mile or get into a fight I’d be winded quick
