A big void in that box lets see packing up a library with thousands of books & hundreds of book cartons stacked on top of each other those boxes will soon collapse & one piece of tape across centre will soon push & collapse in

Books, hardback or paperback, should NEVER be packed laying flat. I mean, that's how they do it in every library you've ever been in, right? That might work if the books will be unpacked in a short period of time but leave them packed for a few months or years and you're liable to find slick pages stuck to one another. Besides, I believe that packing them standing vertical allows to more efficiently pack more books into the carton.

Why can't you use old newspaper? instead of using clean packing sheets. those sheets might as well can be used as rough paper to write notes on. Such waste of good sheets!

He should try something more time consuming and expensive: How about taping it after wrap it in paper? How about looking for ways to wrap books with a decorative Japanese origami technique? What about putting bows on them? Usually we need to pack IN A HURRY!
