Literally NO ONE could stop this man one on one. Forever wishing we could’ve seen him and McGrady play a few fully healthy seasons together. Edit: my family got to see the back to back Hakeem Championships. I was born in 96 and grew up with Yao and McGrady among others like Shane Battier, Louis Scola, Chuck Hayes, Rafee Alston, Aaron Brooks, and then eventually Dwight Howard and Harden. Love my Rockets and the legacy from Calvin Murphy to the 2023 fellas that are next up. Sengun, Green and VanVleet🚀

The only player to make Shaq look like a regular size NBA player...
-
I always forget that he wasn’t just tall, he was incredibly skilled. Great footwork, soft touch on his jump shot, Hakeem-like post moves. If not for injuries he could’ve been one of the greatest centers of all time.
-
The footwork, coordination and athleticism he has at 7’6! He was a beast that unfortunately suffered foot injuries
-
“They forgot about the great wall.”
-
Was very agile. He could play inside, he could play outside, and if he didn't have those injuries he could've been up there in the top five centers to ever play the game. - Shaquille O'Neal

As a Houston Rockets fan who watched NBA games since the early 80’s I think Yao was on the verge of becoming an unstoppable force when injuries ended his career. This man would’ve went down as one of the all-time greats. He was an awesome player and a gentle giant. Thanks for the great memories Yao!🎉

he got 9000+ points in just 8 seasons in nba, means every season made over 1000 points, he's not a black nor a white, but a pure asian, the best asian basketballer so far, and will keep that title for a long long time to come, don't know when there will be another one like him to appear in asia.
-
Miss him unfortunately foot and ankle injury led him for early retirement, proud times though for us Asians.
-
This man bodied Kevin Garnett, Dirk, Tim Duncan, Shaq, Alonzo Mourning, Ben Wallace, and both Gasol brothers. No one else can say they did that. Also made Carmelo look like a kid.
-
7:30 people who don't know about old school basketball won't know how great this was. The respect that NBA gave to Big Ben was huge.
-
Yao ming is not just a pride of China, He's pride of Asia.
-
Bro this guy is a pure beast man.
-
Look at Yao, so inspirational.
-
He makes 7 foot guys look like a point guard. Lmao. And he can shoot free throws, with good post moves, behind the back dribble, sky hook, fade away, good mid range jumper. He is one of a kind
-
Yao was so, so skilled at that size. No one who's played at that height was even remotely as skilled as Yao. Tremendous touch, great footwork and an excellent passer with a dependable 15-18 ft jumper. Even better as a person so it seems.
-
My opinion he’s one of the most skilled big man ever
-
Everyone loves Yao Ming
-
Yao Ming's mid-range was so pure that his pump fake from 12-18 caught many defenders. Growing up I wasn't a Rockets fan, but I miss watching this guy play.
-
when he was playing, I feel like people thought he was just tall. now he is a certified NBA legend
