  • All of this just for Southgate to play trippier left back again
  • @Jord97x
Personally love the idea of going full brexit with Kane and Toney as a front 2 and getting those long balls out😂
  • @JevonGreen_
3-4-2-1 kane bellingham foden saka rice mainoo trent konsa stones walker tactics: kane- drop to 10 and late run in the box for a trent whip bellingham- get in behind/ free roam foden- play with trent rice- stay back mainoo- link trent and foden triangles saka and trent - OVERLAP!!!!!!!!!!! konsa/ stones/ walker- stay back Subs: palmer for foden at 65 gordon or eze for saka at 75 toney for kane at 75-80

For the love of god Foden is NOT a left sided player! Gordon is a living breathing LW who would stretch the pitch way better than Foden
  • I like it but I think I'd swap Bellingham and Foden over, so you have Foden coming inside on his left foot rather than his right, and you have Bellingham getting on the end of Trents crosses at the back post
  • If Southgate plays Trippier, Dunk and Gallagher then there needs to be some kind of intervention; he needs to be sectioned.
  • It’s insane that we are putting saka at lab in stead on Gordon and actual lw who is a work horse.

As a non englishman, I dont understand how someone like trent isn't starting. For the sake of argument, his "defending abbilites" should not be the single factor to why he's not playing, especially when walker has been so poor, also when you have someone like gomez who played almost the whole season as leftback isn't playing, also gomez was part of strongest defense in the league in 2019 and 2020.
  • It’s crazy how drunk I got playing ‘take a shot when James mentions Austria’ while watching this video.
  • @DasKatze500
Reckon we don’t need to change anything, play awfully, and still beat Switzerland. They’re better than us as a team, lovely on the ball, nice patterns of play. But we’ll still have more of the ball and they’re not particularly clinical. So play shit again and we’ll probably sneak a 1-0 or win on penalties. Shithouse our way to the final 😅
  • The fact that we're seriously talking about playing Bukayo Saka at left back shows just how fundamentally wrong Southgate got the selection, imo. Taking Shaw was a huge risk, but I understood it - but taking Shaw without a clear replacement, similar in style who won't require the rest of the system to change around him? Absolutely insane. Straight up bonkers. Hobbled us from the start, and like Jim I've been pro-Southgate up until this tournament.
  • Southgate can play whatever dream line up or formation you want, he's a tin pot PE teacher who can't coach the team to play properly so it's irrelevant.
  • @MrBectham
Gordon played as LWB for Everton several times before , the boy worked his socks off with and without the ball , he can be the best option for LWB
  • I usually hate a back 3, but you've convinced me! Saka at LWB and Trent at RWB gives us width on both sides, while getting a world class player on the pitch in a position he knows (trent) with walker to cover behind. Saka should be able to play high enough that he doesn't feel like he's playing left back and has forgotten what to do, also perfect for Trent's big switches to Saka. Like many others, I'd play Foden right, with Mainoo and Trent, then Bellingham left with Saka and rice, creates some lovely triangles on both sides and plenty of back post threat. Such a shame Southgate won't do any of this... 😔😒🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
  • @jxshsewell
Reading the suggestions in the comments, I've realised that almost any new line-up that attempts to solve the tactical problems would be an improvement. It's such a shame that it feels so unlikely that Southgate will change anything.
  • Gordon is the answer on the left. He’ll keep us wide, decongest the pitch, run in behind, press, support Kane etc. Literally the easiest decision ever.
  • Makes the most sense to me. Palmer or Foden from the start off the right, not too fussed. Pickford TAA Stones Konsa Gomez Foden Mainoo Rice Saka Jude Kane In-Possession: Pickford Stones Konsa Gomez Mainoo Rice TAA Foden Jude Saka Kane
  • Thoughts on playing both of the Liverpool boys and changing to a 4-3-3 and playing like Arsenal and Liverpool do? GK - Pickford LB - Gomez LCB - Stones RCB - Guehi RB - TAA DM - Rice LMF - Bellingham RMF - Foden LW - Gordon ST - Watkins RW - Saka This obviously plays as a 3-2-2-3 in possession and a 4-5-1 out of.
  • @AVStunited
We have to have someone who will run behind. That means either Watkins or Gordon need a place somewhere in the team. Every defense knows we don't go behind so they can squeeze us and be compact between the lines which is where our best players like to be (Foden, Palmer, Bellingham etc.).
