Retired firefighter and lifelong California resident here. Please wear a mask.

Canadian here. Living through the fires. Please wear a mask when you go outside. If you can get an n95 that would be best. I was outside for just a few minutes without my mask and started coughing ash and couldn’t stop. I really appreciate your mentioning and concern for the homeless and animals. This is affecting so many people in so many ways. Stay safe! ✌️ from 🇨🇦
  • So sweet of you to mention the homeless, those working outside and the animals. I work in Philly indoors.
  • Thank you for mentioning all those people who are houseless and have no place get in out of the smoke.
  • Wonderful video! Your humanity, as always, is truly inspiring.

As an Australian, I'm well aware of what this is like. It's not a joke. You could have bad air quality for weeks snd it's going to take a toll on you. Please stay in when you can and wear a mask!

Thanks for filming that Alex. What wild colors the sky was! You are a nice young man to think of others, such as the animals, the homeless, and the firefighters, who are also my heroes!
  • It was hazy all the way here in Kentucky from the smoke too. Crazy world.
  • I’m a Canadian. “Fire” is just one of our seasons now. 🙁
  • @joemeyers3127
So glad you documented this strange event. I’ve never experienced anything like it. 😳😥😳😥

Hello from Australia…saw this on our news last night…..know how you guys are feeling…I live in the bush with bushfire all the time…they are unpleasant and makes it hard to breathe…I think of the wild animals who perish…I have asthma and have learned to stay indoors and I use my air con on recycle to help me breathe….sometimes I get the shakes from using my puffer so often with the smoke….I feel so sad for those experiencing homelessness to be out in it who can’t afford medical care or the luxuries I have……this is proof of climate change…unfortunately worse is to come too…Alex I love useless information especially on the news and I love the books about heroic failures written a few years ago by the Not So Terribly Good Club….take care stay safe always 💯🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

It looks pretty bad out there (and unreal!)…stay safe! There was a noticeable haze here around 2-3 days ago. It’s not nearly as bad but we still are getting air quality alerts. Glad to know I’m not the only one who avoids scary/horror books and movies!

Here in northern New Jersey--we experienced the same yesterday, especially after 1 pm! Thanks for your timely video. Great shots as usual. Always enjoy your videos!! PS--I can't watch scary movies either.
  • @brentbraniff
Whoa!! I love the dystopian look. Really a great opportunity to do some interesting photos as long as you can stay safe. We had the same thing happen here in North Dakota a couple of weeks back. You couldn't see a block away. It was like a blizzard only with smoke. It was still a bit hazy this morning too.
  • I don’t like scary things, either! I live in California, home of the brushfire. This is such a good reminder that I need to buy another respirator, because unfortunately there will be fires and smoke this year again, too. I wish we would solve the Climate Crisis! Best wishes to you for clean air soon! 🤍🤍🤍🌬🌎💙💙💙
  • @patsy205
You need to wear a mask outside. Take care during this time🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰

This happens every year in California, we call it Fire Season, no joke. Although ever since I moved to the Southern part of the state it doesn't seems as bad as the smoke gets in the upper Bay Area or up North (lived in both). I gotta say, I do miss living in the Northern Area of California but I definitely do not miss the smoke or the wild fires, you all keep safe, please wear a mask when you're outside.
  • @pwrfl2357
Is there a strong smell of burning to go along with all this smoke? Crazy times, huh! Stay safe.
  • I ❤ NY too. Please wear a mask. Your future self will thank you. Sorry you have to go through this.
