I personally use gloves on exercises that screw my hands up because I’m doing massages as my side hustle so I don’t have sandpaper palms

If you're just starting out and it's more comfortable for you don't be afraid to use gloves. In the beginning I hated the feeling of the bar and the calluses that would form on my hands. I found I was focusing more on the unpleasant feeling than my form or mind-muscle connection. But once I started wearing gloves lifting became comfortable and I was able to focus more. I used them for years until going without didn't really bother me anymore.

Today was my first day using straps and I totally recommend them. Not having my grip fail + the control it brings when executing the exercise are amazing
  • bro if it wasnt for you, i wouldnt even know what i was doing in the gym and at home. you literally make the BEST gym videos, so simple and easy to follow. thank you so much and PLEASE keep up the GREAT work.

wrist wraps are life savers, can only recomend

Thumbless grip on pulling exercises will increase back activity & decreasing bicep activity
  • Sorry but I would disagree with u about the gloves. I go to my university's gym and everything there has rust on it. Also, I don't want my hand to be rough and hard. I want it to be soft and gloves help a lot with that. Maybe I'm a special case, but gloves helped me a lot. Before them my hand would smell like rust even after I showered
  • One very underestimated use of straps if for any leg exercises where you are using dumbbells like lounges or Bulgarian split squats. It allows you to simply not think about holding weight, even if you use two small 15-20kg dumbbells it might look weird but the ability to fully focus on leg/core work during those exercises is super worth it

Wrist bands helped me a lot when I started lifting. My right wrist used to hurt after bench press, and it was more comfortable to press with bands. After a couple of months I forgot to put them on and noticed that there is no pain anymore and I'm good now.
  • I am 7 months into my gym journey. Noticed my knee hurt when squatting. I bought knee wrap and it's a game changer for me. My knee hurts less when i reach a deeper squat and makes my leg day more effective.
  • Thanks for the insight. I do use bands regularly even though I’m a beginner because I can’t do a proper pull up yet. 😅my goal is to be able to do at least ten unassisted by the end of the year though! Your videos are awesome. Keep it up!
