My son was 10, after watching men in tights 1000 times, he saw Cary Elways at our yearly Comicon , innocently skipped the entire line and yelled out, "It's Robin Hood!!!" Cary gave him an autograph right there. When my son left the Comicon, he said, "I wanna go say bye to my friend" to which my wife instructed to him to say to Cary, "Back to you, Loly" (Cary's exaggerated line from from movie, The Chase) Cary really enjoyed that, "You've got a great kid "

"Why is it every time a Robin Hood movie starts our village burns down? Leave us alone Mel Brooks!" Best beginning to any movie. Anything made by Mel Brooks is gold or so awesome it lights on fire.

I loved Marion’s maid. “No ding ding without the wedding ring.”😂🤣

“My goldfish Goldie?” “Eaten by the cat” “My cat?” “Choked on the goldfish” 😂😂😂

"A Black Sheriff!?" "Hey, it worked in Blazing Saddles." Lol!

Cary Elwes is one of the most underrated actors of 90s. He deserves plenty more big parts in good films.

'A toll is a toll, and a roll is a roll, and we don't get no rolls unless we get our tolls.'

"I heard that coming a mile away" "Well done, Blinkin" "What's that? Who's talking?"
  • @wstine79
Prince John: "And why should the people listen to you?" Robin Hood: "Because, unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent."

Cary Elwes got his part in the Princess Bride because he reminded the filmmakers of Errol Flynn, who played Robin Hood in the 1939 movie.

The Godfather spoof scene with Dom Deluise and Roger Rees is comedy gold.

Blinkin' sword fighting against a post is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen I love Mel Brooks

I don't care what the critics say, this movie is fucking hilarious and I still love it! 😍😍😍💚💚💚

two signs that your artistic endeavor is noteworthy: your movie gets parodied by Mel Brooks. your song gets parodied by Weird Al.
  • @scottcped
Little John did a BRILLIANT job in the dance scene, not only only lip syncing, dancing, AND keeping track of Blinkin!

As a teenager when this came out, I didn't get a lot of the jokes. Same with Spaceballs. I enjoyed both films then and even more so with every rewatch as I grew up and the then over my head jokes were at eye level, and both were new, even funnier movies for me. 10/10 Will watch again.

"We're men, we're men tights, TIGHT, tights". I loved this moving growing up and just watched it yesterday.

Another piece of Mel Brooks GOLD, Cary was amazing, actually everyone in the movie were amazing 😁👍💖

Hey Minty That idea of having both Kevin Costner's Robin Hood and Cary Elwes Robin Hood meeting up in a scene and simultaneously saying something like "Oops, I'm in the wrong movie" and then walking off in opposite directions would've made for a hilarious addition
  • This was one of my late father's favourite films. He was born in 1919 and remembered seeing the Errol Flynn 'Robin Hood' at the cinema. One of the scenes that always made him laugh was the swordfight on the stairs which spoofs the Errol Flynn version. Thanks for a fun video!
