This super tiny Tokyo apartment may just be one of the smallest places we have seen so far, yet at 8 m2 (82 ft2) it still provides a perfect space to allow Emma (originally from Australia) to live a big life in Japan.

Didn't realize I have been living in a mansion all this time.

Plot twist. She later found out she has been living in the closet and she actually has a large apartment behind a hidden wall
  • I love her attitude and positivity. As I was watching this I literally felt claustrophobic, it’s like living in a hallway.

its nice that she honours the landlord’s instruction/culture of taking shoes off before entering the apartment. Back in London, us a group of Malaysian students were renting a flat. One day we had the porter over to look at some flat issues and my housemate kindly asked him to take off his shoes, to which he replied “I’m not going to follow another culture” and so he walked all over the flat with his shoes on. ☹️

"Can you show me around?" - what do you mean? The moment you open the door she already showed you around.

Both of them have a wonderfully positive energy. Love this episode.

I visited Japan in 2018 and I fell in love. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, polite, and respectful. It was super clean and safe. That's so great she gets to live in Japan. Love her positive attitude.

I was prepared for her to say the sink was the toilet

The most positive woman i have ever seen.
  • Not the first time I go back here, this is one of my favorite videos on Youtube. Just love both's positive attitude and humour. As someone looking forward to renting a small space to live this is inspiring

Such videos always make me feel bad. Like how bad I am in organising my apartment as well as been too demanding. But the fact that you can be happy on 8m2 inspires me a lot.

Just imagine living there during quarantine tho.

Her spirit is what makes where she lives the most enjoyable space.

She can live anywhere happily. One amazing personality! There is something about living by yourself, not sharing the bathroom or kitchen or sanity with anyone else. She is living it!

"what animal sleeps out in the open?" Such a good point. My two Chihuahuas have a large kennel and they typically curl up in the corner where they squished up their puppy blankets and toys.

"can you show me around?" I just did, mate!
  • Emma has turned this tiny space into ‘her space’ and it’s beautiful and homely ❤

The loft is a bit scary. If you were not feeling well or woke up in the middle of the night, it could be an accident waiting to happen. But the place is nice, clean comfortable and doesn't feel claustrophobic. And she is absolutely adorable with totally positive vibes.
