Quite possibly the greatest food of all time has to be… mac and cheese. It’s a childhood classic that truly reigns supreme. Today we put old faithful, Kraft, up against a $5,000 mac and cheese creation and we bring in the ultimate expert to be the final judge!

    For the Kraft cheese: Annato is an orange-red food colouring. Made from the seeds of the achiote tree. This gives the powder a cheese like look. There's also salt there in the form of sodium, and emulsifiers to help everything bind nicely together, as well as citric acid for a slight tangy taste and to help extend the shelf life. Essentially, it's orange salt and flour, with some added stabilisers and emulsifiers to help the sauce reach the desired consistency.

    Max really put the effort in level 3 . I really think he wanted to make level 3 as a dish withaut competition but he had to keep it up with the level 1-2-3 trend . Amazing video and much love . ❤❤❤

    To explain what Annato is. Annato is a berry that is used to make a natural yellow/orange dye for use in cheeses. Its one of the many suspect sounding but actually totally innocuous ingredients in American Cheese.

    You can't do it with Kraft, but the cheese powder from some brands of boxed macaroni and cheese makes for amazing homemade cheese popcorn, especially if you use brown butter on it. (It doesn't work with Kraft because the cheese powder isn't fine enough.) Also, thank you for dispatching the crab before cooking. I know they're just glorified ocean bugs, but that doesn't mean we have to make them suffer.
