  • 🧐 Hey there! I really hope you find this one helpful. I think about this a lot, ESPECIALLY the bit about age (and capability) being primarily a factor of habits. . 🦙 I'm super excited to be working with Loom as a sponsor now! I use their tool every day with my team and to offer stellar support to my Notion template customers. I became a psychologist at 40, a fitness instructor at 60, a published author at 62, a personal trainer and artist (whose paintings sell) at 68. It is never too late. Now at 70, I work full time at a gym and life is wonderful!
  • 40 and in nursing school. We don’t all know what we want at 18. Don’t compare yourself to others. ❤

Just turned 82 today and officially got my PhD in Physics! It's never too late to become who you might have been !
  • Y’all are youngsters 🤗. I lost my programming job at age 42, and with no possibilities, wrote a programming book. It went on to spawn a series and sell more than 2 million copies. I still live from my royalties. The point is, in my 20’s and 30’s it would NEVER have occurred to me I could write a book, and no way could I predict it would become one of the bestselling tech books in Amazon history. And at 50, I went back to school and, well, yeah, it’s never too late 😁. Some of the best work of my life happened after turning 60, and it was something I never imagined doing. Never stop exploring.

I'm 25 and just gratuated. For the first time in my life I am free to do what I want, yet I see so many people younger then me who are so much further in life then I am. It worried me. But I keep remembering that quote from Mulan, "The last flower to blossom will be the most beautiful of all."
  • Can't believe it, I was in the middle of a mental breakdown because I already graduate and still don't know what to study, while all my friends are already attending it. This gave me hope and clarity. Thanks a lot Thomas, I really needed this ❣❤❤❤❣
  • I’m 55 and the mantra “stay curious” is the way to have a successful life - at any age.
  • This totally makes so much sense. Starting college at 61, attempt #3. After raising my children, divorced and starting live over again. I am learning so much, even though it was very difficult from the beginning. I am so proud that I am where I am now. Correct, never too late. I am proof of it.

A friend sent me this video after I shared a post about feeling perpetually stuck due to my childhood and adolescent years being lost. I'm 27. All of my friends are married, have kids, have a house, have a new car, travel, or some combination of the above. One friend who is five years younger than me bought a house with her boyfriend and a 2022 car this year, despite she makes less than I do. I am happy for her - I wish my friends well in life - but I am in school (again!) and live in a tiny apartment with my mom (she can't live alone), and seeing my friends fly by me makes me regret so many things and wish I could've figured it out sooner (my family wasn't exactly supportive, so mentally and emotionally, I was on my own). I've been out of high school for almost a decade and I feel like I have nothing to show for it except frustration. And I know 30 isn't "old", but it sure feels like I'm running out of time. Everyone is set, having a great life, and I'm just... here.
  • There're many reasons why some of us start out "late". If anyone here has struggled with addiction and mental illness and is now in recovery like me, just remember that everyone's path in life is different but no less valid. I got my act together, went back to college, and well on my way to getting into a top graduate program for AI research. And I'm 39. You're not alone in this. Thank you, Thomas, for the inspiration!
  • I'm 39 and I'm turning 40 this month. I live with my older sister and I can't find a job. It's hard not to think you're late when the world seems not made for those who start getting old and still can't find themselves.
  • there's no such thing as falling behind, there's only comparasion to others. those who party will regret not sudying, those who study will regret not partying. just do whatever makes you love man, dont ever look at other people and say "wow, their life is so much better than mine, they are so dedicated etc". it's your life and there's no such thing as wasting it
  • @cyndinn
Thank you, this video hit me hard, I am 32 and have nothing to my name. Felt like giving up on life. THIS VIDEO just saved me.
  • @patataeve
I'm 33 and needed to hear this today, thank you!!!
  • I went to a work conference and talked to all the psychologists and Pharmacists and I asked when they started. Half of them started in their 40s. Blew my mind. It actually motivated me to try something hard in my 30s.
  • I think it's fate I came across your video. I'm struggling to move forward and I'm almost 40. I'm really behind in life and I have no self confidence because of it. Right now I'm unemployed and I'm trying to put myself through school to finish my high school diploma. That's how behind I am. I'm currently struggling with the homework. I was starting to feel hopeless and useless. Now I feel better and more inspired.. Thank you.
  • My father went to law school in his mid-thirties. He told me that whenever he had a case involving some former job or career -- he never lost because he knew all the details that others didn't. I'm now in my 70ties -- loved your video. Especially the part about the beginner's mind. I was a trainer and having a "beginner's mind" is essential if you want to effectively communicate new knowledge to someone. Now, I can use this concept to move myself into new areas. Thanks!
  • In short, it doesn’t matter when you started. it matters that you start. If you put effort, work and patience towards you will achieve that thing.
