Rig: GT Omega Prime on casters; got the integrated monitor mount, mouse deck, and a TREQ keyboard tray to fit when I move it into the new gaff Seat: BB Classics racing bucket (cheap and cheerful - the old GT Omega will ideally be turned into an office chair) Base: Moza R16 Wheels: Moza GS V2, Moza RS V2, Moza KS, MVH Studios GTS, Thrustmaster T500 bare rim because 70s F1 innit, I also have a Turn R305 floating around Pedals: Heusinkveld Sprints 🤤 Grabby sticks: SHH shifter, Moza handbrake Other: SimRacing4U button box, Rii wireless keyboard+trackpad, dust PC: Intel i7-11700KF, RTX 3060 Ti, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM Monitor: MSI AG32CV, came highly recommended by some nice bloke Etc: Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL keyboard, Razer Blackshark V2 Pro '23 headset, Razer Orochi mouse (battery eating little bastard) I'm thinking of streamlining and swapping the Moza stuff (bar the handbrake) and the rims for Simagic, and that Grid display of yours thoroughly tickles my pickle while we're at it. With those I think I'd be done with it, but you and I both know that will not be the case. Maybe a "reacting to viewers' setups" video would be a cool idea 👀

Something I found that really helped me was adding trackir from my flight sim rig, it allowed me to look around with the more narrow FOV of a single monitor while having much less of a hit to my FPS compared to triples

You have a great setup James. Thanks for the inside tour of your sim room.
  • One thing worth considering to add to your setup is some kind of haptic feedback on your pedals, especially brake with ABS or wheels lockup. Simagic offers dedicated solution but you can also use small bass shakers. I'm using bass shakers on each pedal and it helped me a lot to understand the car and my driving style

Enjoy all the funny bits a lot. Video seems to have too much sharpening for me. Very strange to watch really. Cheers!
  • @Nathan8rr
Really great video! Sick f’n setup James. I bet it’s so satisfying running laps in that beast!
  • Production quality's definitely stepped up from what I remember. Shout out to the cameraman and editor, and of course that's an absolute dream rig
  • @rocket009able
You're absolutely spot on about sim racers never being completrly happy with what theyve got! Ive got a Moza R9 and Asetek Forte pedals that im lucky if i use it more than once a week and im still thinking about small upgrades and adjustments here and there 😂
  • @cltweddings
im digging my fanatec shifter installed the adjustable tension hand knob with m10x40mm 1.5 thread and a 3d printed knob
  • @pinrolls
Would love to see a video where you break down what your practice schedule looks like for a specific race. For instance, your Daytona 24hr practice schedule, or for a similar race
  • @pamo5900
I have next level ES1 in formula position, removed pad half way, added lumbar support and put it back on. Perfection :) Without it pure pain with load cell brake.
  • @Nathdood
Crazy that you still have an OG Rift. I just upgraded my OG Rift to a Quest 3 and HOLY CRAP was the jump in quality enormous. Absolutely recommend the quest 3 over the OG rift in a heartbeat
  • @mgerim
So in your opinion triples are not that important?
  • @Mordrede100
Really enjoyed the video. Also, quite humbling for us reckless upgraders to hear that you, an absolute beast preaching the words of abstinence, we need to hear them, really. Jokes aside, wanted to ask about the VR aspect, I only race in VR, so was interesting to find out that you only use them for testing for IRL? CV1 isn't really the newest tech, but since you have no need for better, I guess it is okay? Would you think a quest 3 or something bit better&much pricier would maybe change your mind? Obviously you said many times that vr and fps and strain is a huge factor, but I would assume some1 with IRL racing experience would gasp onto anything to recreate that feeling? Like VR, maybe bass shakers or a 4DOF (but they are pricy)?
  • @black7rc720
My most recent addition that I just love is the Precision Sim Engineering Pro Switch Panel. I think it would compliment your setup nicely James.
  • @scott501
I just upgraded my 49" Odyssey G9 to the new 57" G9, and that extra panel real estate makes a huge difference, I've always found the vertical height of the 49" version to be it's only weakness, the 57" version solves this 100%, plus the extra width completely fills your entire periphery, expensive AF but so worth it
  • @Robin_S78
I have the same monitor as you have. I recommend the grass monkey Puck. A perfect combo
  • @W204_Muj
Awesome setup for an Awesome driver! Well deserved.
  • @MSR_Gilles
Good you give us exact measurements of your monitor higth and how far back it is?
