Sky News host Rita Panahi breaks down the scandal involving a boxer with XY chromosomes as she accuses the International Olympics Committee of “weapon-grade gaslighting”.

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif was booted from the 2023 Women’s World Boxing Championships after failing the International Boxing Association (IBA)'s gender eligibility test, reportedly over Khelif's elevated testosterone levels.

“We should disregard the evidence before our eyes and those pesky XY chromosomes,” Ms Panahi said.

“We are supposed to pretend that disorders of sex development give males a free pass to compete in women's events. On what planet is that fair to female competitors.”

  • If they're not men fighting women, neither are they women fighting women.

The International Boxing Association (IBA) tested Karo types, and Imane Khekif and Lin Yu-Ting were identified as 100% men. XY chromosomes, high testerone, there is no way they can be anything but 100% males. The IBA does not own the test. The test was done independently and they received it from India and Indonesian where Imane and Lin were competing. The IBA gave both Imane and Lin and opportunity to retest to show without a doubt that they are female and they refused to do so, so they were disqualified from the world championships. Imane and Lin became enraged that they were testing their gender, but both signed contracts agreeing to be legally tested. And those tests show them to be 100% male. Imane and Lin then went on to compete in the Olympics where the IOC does not test the biological sex of the athlete. The IBA contacted the IOC over a year ago to warn about both of these two fighters because they were concerned about the safety of women. The IOC didn't even respond to the IBA or bother to test Imane and Lin. The IOC only verifies the biological sex of an athlete by what the athlete says and their passport. Thomas Bach, the President of the IOC confirmed that's how they do the verification. They do not test at all.

Female Olympic athletes should file a class action lawsuit against the IOC.
  • NO ONE is saying an “XY” cannot compete at the Olympics or any other sporting event. We are simply saying that they CANNOT compete against WOMEN.

The fact that they call it a "gender eligibility test" should tell you all you need to know about the IOC "process". As I've said before, until actual women athletes opt out of competitions with men, this will never end.

I wish people would quit saying this is a female boxer when he’s clearly a male.

I’m Greek and 60. We invented Olympics. I watched a few minutes of the opening ceremonies, turned off my TV called my cable company immediately and had my cable and internet disconnected. I’m glad I got to enjoy 14 Olympics before all this nonsense. I’m using my neighbors Wi-Fi (with permission) I’m not giving media or networks a dime ever. I am so done with the nonsense this world has become.

The women should walk out and leave these XY athletes to compete against each other.
  • "Khelif, from Algeria, has been allowed to compete in the women's boxing in Paris despite failing gender eligibility tests last year. DNA tests showed she has XY chromosomes, identifying her as biologically male." He destroyed the dreams of Angela Carini, a dedicated athlete who worked hard to reach that position. By taking advantage of the physical advantages associated with being male, this constitutes bullying and even physical abuse towards women. Khelif should be officially sued for assault on a female. Where is the feminist movement defending this woman who was abused by a bully?

This is such a nobrainer, this whole situation is just nauseating. For all living organisms that procreate sexually there are either large gametes or small gametes. Those individuals who can produce or have the potential to produce large gametes are female. Those individuals who can produce or have the potential to produce small gametes are male. This is THE definition of biological sex. Other factors like genitalia, phenotype, hormones etc are secondary. If you are XY, regardless of disorder of sexual development or not, you are MALE. For example, Caster Semenya, although perceived by herself and family her whole life as female, is actually a male. She's XY. Women's sports don't exist because of gender identity or passports, they exist because of the different distrubitions of athletic performance between the two groups: males and females. If you're male, you must not be permitted to compete against females. Let's protect women's rights!
  • So clearly unfair and wrong. I have stopped watching the Olympics.
  • @pgstdb
I thought Male violence against Women is illegal.
  • @billcarney829
WHY, is it, that you NEVER hear of a woman who changes her sex to male, compete with and beat men in athletic contests? WHY?
  • Very well said 👏🏻…. The only way to make it fair is XYs should only compete against XYs, DSDs should only compete against DSDs but you know THAT will never happen. The world is going to $h!t.

ALL PEOPLE , BOYCOTT THE OLYMPICS NOW ! ! !

I'm 70 years old. For as long as I remember that the Olympics were televised, my family and I always enjoyed watching - it was exciting and we watched as much as we possibly could. Now not only do I not watch it, but I wouldn't in 1 million years let my grandchildren watch it. I feel sorry for the athlete to have trained so hard for so long and I losing this support of an audience. Shame on the IOC and France.

In 2023 Not one single Democrat voted for a ban on males in female sports. Not one. 203 Democrats voted against it. 219 Republicans voted for the ban. #SaveWomenSports

The Olympics Games is becoming the Special Olympics for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
