I went from a 2020 5.0 to a C7 Grandsport. No regrets. Love both cars but the handling and interior on the corvette is on super car level. The mustang needs to be modified to compete with the corvette around the track and the interior quality is not very good on the mustang. Honestly in in todays age. We should just appreciate what we have before it’s gone.

I’ve had both, 5.0 and C8 at the same time. I would take a C8 for a lot of reasons and a mustang for a lot of reasons too. Both are great cars and bring different ownership experiences. For one, the corvette will open A LOT of doors. Going out on a Friday night with the Mrs in the C8 would always get me VIP parking for free at clubs etc and people treat you like you’re in a Ferrari. The mustang gets a bit of attention too but no where near the C8 or even the C7 I had. Yes it’s a smaller cabin, I’m also 6’0 and 225lbs and I never had an issue. But to get in the corvette, or any low sports car, you go in butt first and once your butt lands on the seat, then you put your legs in. It’s the only way to comfortably do it. Long trips the C8 is amazing, but the mustang is a bit better, but not by much and I had the carbon seats. Now if you compare a C7 to a premium mustang on a road trip, I’d take the mustang, I always hated long drives in my C7. Regardless of what car you get, you’ll definitely be in for one hell of a ride and ownership experience!

I have both. Two whole different types of vehicles and two whole different price ranges.
  • I am 6’4” and there is not claustrophobic at all in the C8 and love how it’s a driver oriented cockpit!!
  • The fact that you would even consider comparing a $75,000 corvette with a $45,000 mustang should tell you everything you need to know.

I've owned 2 Z06s, 5 FOX Body Stangs, 1 2016 Performance Pack Mustang and now m current 2020 Saleen Yellow Label 740hp. Corvettes are a blast and are great and so are the Stangs. I can do both all day! I just drove my yellow label to west Texas El Paso TX 600 miles both ways and it was simi convertible to the Z06. Pretty much take your pick of fun. Lol

Actually the C8 does not have a torque tube running down the middle. It’s all behind you.
  • Justin was seen the next day sneaking into a Chevy dealership signing paperwork on his new C8….lol
  • Kudos to you for the honest review! I’ve owned a 14 GT, 18 GT PP1, and 2022 GT premium. That said, my new C8 is on another level for barely any more money. I will ALWAYS love Mustangs, but the the price of them pushed me to the C8 and it’s on another level.

Nothing wrong with liking both. Too many brand loyalists in the car community. I’m a Chevy man but one day I’ll have a GT350. Now that’s a car!
  • I’m very happy with my C8 Stingray but I will never understand why GM made the exhaust so loud on startup and then quiet as a kitten when it’s warmed up. Most people don’t know how to correctly setup launch control. I consistently get 0-60 in 2.7 seconds
  • Man. You lost me at “cramped cockpit” and “massive torque tube”. I’m 6’2” and 220 and the C8 has loads more seating room than my S550. And go ahead and show me that torque tube…. I’ll wait…
  • A Mustang is a pony car, the Camaro was beating it. Another ponycar. The Vette is just a different animal, and it's a true supercar now.
  • @gregory7414
    I like the Vette. Iconic car, since 1953. I have a 2023 C8 and a 2023 Camaro 2SS 6 speed. Love them both.
  • @Chris-Rife
Well, one's around $75,000 the other is around $45,000. Nearly a $30,000 difference in price, I can safely assume the corvette is better by sheer price tag alone. I would assume the GT500 would fall more in line against corvette in the options department, including performance features.
  • I own A, 2023 C8 HTC Corvette and I had 3 Mustang GTs before, a 2007 , 2011 and a 2015 and I loved all of them but I would not go back. Love my C8.
  • @los8956
great comparison and content; perhaps in the future, yall can compare the c8 z06 and the GTD
