All of a sudden, we all have this indescribably deep connection with typewriters…
  • At 80 years old I became a fan. Taylor Swift is a genuine Phenomenon. This will be her 5th Grammy Album of the Year.
  • @JomirBrands
Love the whole song SO MUCH. 80s beat, that bridge, the Taylor Swift sound. Love it
  • I will buy every taylor swift item if this comment gets 12k likes (yes I'm begging, but i also want taylor swift stufff) Damn woke up to 293 likes? 970?!?! WOW!! changed the thing from 1k to 12k because I couldn't afford it at 1k:) [also don't go off at me for changing it it's called "my dad has to go on a business trip and we aren't rich"

This is my fav of her new album. She is not just a singer but a storyteller and each of her songs is so poetically, metaphorically, and rhythmically written that she might be the tortured poet itself struggling to tell the most poignant poem out of her talent.

"I chose this cyclone with you" such a fantastic, sweet and heartbreaking line
  • @Dandiland
The Charlie Puth lyric being the new “hey kids, spelling is fun” is TAKING ME OUT 😭😂

The Tortured Poets Department speaks of the aftermath of separating from the person whom you've once shared earnest feelings for. Then reality hits and you start doubting and questioning yourself of you're actually in the wrong all this time.

I am a 33 yo swiftie here. I am in love with her storytelling each song sets a tone and is relatable for every possible scenario. Well done Taylor, you are truly talented and I look forward to hearing more of your cleverly crafted work for years to come.
  • "I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairytale" vibes on that one part
  • I have been a devoted Patti Smith fan since I first heard her in 1975 (yes I'm old). I saw an article this morning where Patti Smith posted a thank you to Taylor Swift for mentioning her in a song, so not knowing anything by Taylor Swift I went investigating. The reference to Patti is beautiful. The lyrics of this song are beautiful and insightful and the whole thing is pure class. I can see & hear why she is so popular and will check out more of her material. Never too old to discover new music.

Popular opinion: Everyone agrees that Taylor Swift isn’t just a singer-songwriter, she’s also a very effective storyteller!

I'm literally obsessed with the first line - so catchy. Seemlessly stringing together apartment, tortured poets departments, typewriter... 🤯
  • @Holoether
In 20 years this album will be seen as amongst the most honest music of this time. If we’re still singing and alive, Taylor Swift I predict will be honored as a game-changing feminist at the Kennedy Center Awards.
