Bangladesh Supreme Court has scaled back the job quota system amid violent protests. The country's top court called the Dhaka High Court order that reinstated the quota system as “illegal”. The high court order triggered massive protests in Bangladesh and killed at least 151 people, including police officers. The Supreme Court did not abolish the quota system in government jobs. Bangladesh Attorney General A.M. Amin Uddin has said that the country will now have five per cent of jobs reserved for families of 1971 war heroes and two per cent of jobs reserved for other categories. Earlier, 30 per cent of government jobs were reserved for families of war veterans. Amid the raging protests, Bangladesh has extended the curfew for an "uncertain time" to control the violence.

It is so sad that the police and military of Bangladesh had killed its own citizens .In Turkey when their was a military coup the soldiers refused to kill their own citizens. Many young flowering students lost their lives. in this struggle for reservation. May Allah showering blessings on the martyred students and give patience to their parents.

this quota system is nonsense, should never have been endorsed. When you perform an act, it must be selfless without any expectations. It's a case of asking what you can do for your country instead of what your country can do for you. This is how the country progresses.

WE HAVE the worst disasters in USA 250 years history, yet we are too lazy to fight!!! These are very brave folks!!!

But students in Bangladesh say it's not just about the quota movement. Who will take responsibility for the atrocities the government has inflicted on our students, and the lives that have been lost. So the government wants the resignation of all those who were involved in the sector and they should be brought under the law.
