I think Toby's pictures were the best, but putting his own self portrait in the middle of his commission portrait was a clear mistake; maybe that cost him the win, I don't know. the winner, Christobel, falls down in my opinion, due to lack of likeness. To be "fresh" and "minimalist" is not good enough; you really need to nail the likeness.

Not sure who should have won but I am quite sure that Christabel was third best.

Inga your art is so amazing ……I would have chosen your work…….👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Lemn picked the best one ... but once again, the judges picked the one that looked the least like the sitter, though the commissioned piece was really good ...it was probably that commissioned piece that was the determining factor, because not one of the winner's 4 hour pieces was very good

Inga, your paintings were exceptional! Shout out from S.A. 🎉 Super proud of you!

I think the judges should change their algorithm, managed to chose the worst. Toby and his commission were by far the best and then Inga.
  • All three of them are good artists who proved themselves. I think the winner was chosen for the contemporary, clean, and minimal take on her subjects. Toby was the strongest artist of the three in pure image making in the classical tradition and his ability to transfer on the canvas what he sees with such grace and lightness is rare. In this final episode, his delivery of the subject's eyes, gaze, and enigmatic half smile was masterful. He already belongs with the greats of portraiture, winner or no winner. What a great talent!

They look like a portrait art class with no particular stars. (in my opinion)

This show needs new judges. I can't believe who they picked as the winner. Boooooo! I was team Toby up until today, but I think Inga's paintings were the best in the final.

There was no ‘dash of surprise’ in her work.

I love how Stephen is always making Tai crack up! 😂

It was the commissioned piece that won me over. I look forward to the final work.
  • Toby has been consistently the best of the 3 and Christabel the worst. So Of Course she won! I could see where he was going with the self portrait in the corner - the nod to Velasquez and the subject being Spanish. The Judges as usual were oblivious. I don't think it worked too well, but I understood it, which was more than they did. I would not have had a clue from the other 2 what their subjects did. Seemed the dumpy woman didn't know either, as she talked about Christabel's being in an Office! Shows how much link She has with Reality!. The 3 stooges. Not the artists!

Toby was way above the others! New judges, please.

I just couldn't get into Christabel's work. The judges called it minimalist. I thought it was very two dimensional and flat. It was almost cartoonish with it's big blocks of solid color.I thought both the other two were better all the way through. Oh well. This is why I'm not an art judge.

C’est Toby le meilleur ! Le jury a fait un choix étrange.
