One of the last Wright designs was the Seth Peterson cottage in Wisconsin. Once abandoned, it was saved and restored. A modified version was designed by Taliesin and built by Don Lovness in the 1970s. Both cottages are described here by Lonnie Lovness, who grew up in her parents' Frank Lloyd Wright designed home.

You don’t even have to be told it’s a Frank Lloyd Wright house. It’s just gives off this energy, you know, you can feel it.

This was wonderful. Can't believe they even considered a Wright home for demolition. All Wright structures should be preserved as historical landmarks - no matter what the case.

Your parents were DIY warriors! What a wonderful job they did on your childhood home. What a crying shame that the Peterson home was for a while left to decay. Thanks for the tour.

Beautiful. Master pieces of architecture need to be preserved.
  • As an Architecture Student, I have always found great love for this cottage. Always found great inspiration for it. I didn't know the true story of the cottage until now. Thank you for sharing this history with us.

Lonnie, your family are the kind of people Wright depended on. Bless all of you. Both homes are exquisite. 🙂🙂❤️💯
  • Even though Wright designed many Corporate and Civil buildings, it was his houses and cottages that pleased us all. I hope he does not doom me from on high, if I plagiarizer some of his motifs. He made all us the designers of our homes.
  • I love this story of dedication and perseverance in making this dream become reality. What a lovely setting and beautiful design . Your parents are an inspiration.

Lovely videos. My grandfather was an architect in Vancouver Washington. We are faced with renovating his mid century residence that he designed and built in the 70's. He loved enjoyed Wrights work. Wish I could have asked him much more before he died.

Your Mother looks like she was quite an inspiration for your father: Gorgeous and a trooper who enjoyed the process.
