Would've loved to have seen a side by side comparison of a treated vs untreated section of lawn in the same area. Something like side by side 5x5 plots.

Best way to keep the grass healthy during hotter months, IMHO, is to let it grow! I put my mower at highest cut setting and let tall coverage retain moisture.

I'll have to try and remember this for next season. My relatively tiny lawn was devastated early on this year.

I have 1000 beach umbrellas that I use to shade my lawn when it's really hot, but I'll give this a try. Thank you.

Great video, I like to put some liquid iron in the mix to help with keeping the lawn green.

Thanks. I'm ordering those products right now. I've been watering like crazy and it's just barely hanging on. By the way, you must be a drummer 😂
  • great tip! don't forget to add Yucca or Baby Shampoo to help break the surface tension so it sticks to the grass blades

It’s too late for mine. Half of the lawn has gone dormant. Had I not put down the hydretain, it may have gone into full dormancy. I’m going to keep this in mind for next Spring. It seems like it will only get hotter ea year. For now, I’ll water as needed. Man, I can’t wait to dethatch, aerate & overseed this fall.

You always provide interesting videos with great tips. I was interested to know how you came up with the quantity of sea kelp per gallon. The manufacturer seems to recommend 1 or 2 ounces per gallon. I've been using Sea K, and I truly believe sea kelp really saved my lawn in this heat. I just purchased super thrive to add to it in hopes of even more heat protection. Many thanks for your informative videos!
  • @xpminister
How often should one apply to the lawn?

In Sacramento we've been having 105+ off and on for the last 3 weeks. Got rid of my grass years ago. Have a rock garden with lots of shrubs. Will this mixture help shrubs, plants, stuff other than grass?
  • @erichill5328
Can you use this mixture on plants and flower beds? Thanks
  • Another great video! Was that a Tempest weather system in the background at the end of the video? If so, how do you like it? I have the Rachio controller and was considering adding it for more accurate rainfall tracking.

Gs plant food sea kelp can use on warm season lawn? And does need water in after application? Thanks

I have no backpack sprayers, can it be applied via hose end sprayer?
