  • I’m really glad they decided to make a show about Cyberpunk, the setting is WAY TOO COOL for them just to shelve and forget about
  • laughed way too hard when they said police appears out of nowhere because this was a major bug in the game haha Also when a bunch of cars went flying around

Something which blew me away was that the music in the anime is from the game. The song "who's ready for tomorrow" which plays while David is walking to to school fits him so well it's uncanny.

Hopefully trigger gets to do more seasons for cyberpunk, but hopefully it is made into an anthology series. I'd love to see a story centered around the nomads.
  • when a show leaves you feeling empty, sad because you had to say goodbye to the characters, hurt because of what you saw, and you can't stop rewatching it because you can't accept that it's over and you want more, and yet, you have nothing but praise for the wild ride you were in, then you know you saw something truly special. Great job guys, I'm gonna miss this characters...

Watched the entire show in one day. I'm so happy it turned out as well as it did

There is so much to love about this show. The writing, the music, the crisp animation. Only bad thing imo is that there werent more episodes, and the timeskip felt a little rushed too imo
  • i think one of the many strong points in this show is the dynamic between characters they make the group feel like a family in such a unforgiving world there is a faint feeling of hope for the characters and david and lucy’s dynamic is absolutely beautiful I love how they ended it with those two in the last episode such an epic story
  • The best way I can describe the show is an 80s anime with today's technology. Hella brutal and beautiful at the same time.
  • Probably some of the most genius marketing I've ever seen

Don't think we necessarily need to compare, they compliment each other. The disaster of a launch aside, having played at launch and couldn't get past the tutorial aside, I went back to the game and found myself invested in the story. The anime really, reaaally sets the scene for the game, and this "I want to be a legend" thing becomes more and more understandable. It's hard to go into the game dry and connect with the characters on any level, but after the show I can really understand what everyone is saying and where they are coming from. The timer put on V's life is pressuring throughout the whole playthrough and I just know that it won't end well, just like David and anyone else in night city. But none of that changes anything for the characters, because death was always close anyway, and through the pursuit of a chance at life you, playing as the character, really find true relationships in the game and the anime, even if the adventures for everyone are so, so short.
  • So glad they redeemed themselves by not only fixing the game almost entirely, but adding a huge new expansion to it along with an entire rework to the game's combat mechanics. This really shows how much passion they had for Cyberpunk. In its release it was like a very very (very) unpolished diamond. It was buggy to all hell, but the graphics were fucking amazing, and when the game did function as it was supposed to, it was amazing. The story element, the setting, all of it was Triple-A by the definition. With 1.6 almost completely fixing the game, and now 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, this gives us very high hopes for the future of Cyberpunk. Let's just hope this time they take 9 years instead of 8 to make another one lmao.

This anime along with arcane were one of the biggest surprise shows to come out in the past year. I notice that what makes them so special is the amazingly unique, well crafted world that the games have already previously laid out for the shows to build upon. The formula of being an outlaw/underdog in such an unfair world seems to be very appealing to viewers. Also since the games have already cumulated fans you just know they’re gonna hype the fuck out of it and I’m glad they did. Seriously one of the most entertaining shows to ever come this year. I hope to see more anime studios adapting games and building upon the lore for their respective niche fan bases to watch.

If both Gigguk and Scamboli making videos regarding this doesn't convince people that this anime is awesome, then damn... They're really missing out
  • @cydthemanic
You know its certified greatness when Giancarlo Esposito voices a character on it
  • the show actually made me buy/play the game and there is still some minor bugs but now its actually a great game!
