Old description:

In this video, you'll see the most popular songs throughout each month in the 2000s. The tunes selected for this video are the ones that reached #1 or at least ranked higher in more countries than other hits in the same month, but it's not very accurate since many of them were number one for different periods, and I didn't want to repeat any song.

Mostly based on Wikipedia charts.

I'm not a native English speaker, and for most of my life before creating this channel, I didn't care about the lyrics in the music I listened to. But song lyrics have been slowly adding to the destruction of our society for decades. The fact that a bad idea sounds musically pleasing doesn't make it a good idea. Addictions, crime, promiscuity, divorces, revenge, telling lies, cursing, swearing, hating, making idols, taking lives before birth, and many other destructive behaviors have been spread and normalized for years through most of the things we consider entertaining. Be careful of the messages you let into your life. Some people need to know that there is scientific proof that God exists. Causality and the principle of sufficient reason, to mention some, are accepted as universal, basically stating that everything has a cause and nothing appears by itself. Everything in the universe is subject to cause and effect, but whoever created the universe does not necessarily have to: if there was ever a time in the beginning where there was nothing, wouldnā€™t there still be nothing? Then itā€™s wise to admit that something or someone must have always existed, causing the existence of everything else. Some people have been able to explain it better than I can, so I will just cite one of the clearest presentations of the gospel I have ever read, published by Living Waters in the Million Dollar Bill: THE MILLION-DOLLAR QUESTION: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Have you lied, stolen, used Godā€™s name in vain, or lusted (which Jesus said was adultery, Matthew 5:28)? If so, God sees you as a liar, thief, blasphemous, and adulterer at heart. If you die in your sins, you will end up in a terrible place called Hell. But thereā€™s good news. Though we broke Godā€™s Law, Jesus paid the fine by dying on the cross: ā€œGod so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting lifeā€ (John 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds (itā€™s no fairytale). He fulfilled all the prophecies of the promised Savior. Please, today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will forgive you and grant you the gift of eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9). Then, to show your gratitude, read the Bible daily and obey it, join a Christian church, and be baptized. Visit needgod.com/ and livingwaters.com/
  • Pop-Britney Rap-Eminem Rock-Linking Park R&B-Beyonce All successful artist that defined the 2000s
  • @j.victors.m3583
Britney and Christina dominated early 2000's BeyoncƩ, Shakira, Avril, Alicia, Jennifer, Fergie, Mariah, Gwen, Rihanna and Nelly Furtado mid-2000's Katy Perry and Lady Gaga later 2000's
  • The fact that Madonna showed up 4 times in here and this was already her 3rd decade of music. Impressive. What a legend.

In my opinion, songs after 2000 were more about rhythm and effect, whereas before 2000, melodic and lyrical content was dominant (I'm talking about an overall impression). By the 1990s,Ā  The work of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and other outstanding artists is undoubtedly the culmination of our most recent melodic music.

I feel old. Canā€™t believe some of these songs are over 15 years old!!
  • This playlist doesnā€™t only bring back the music, but also memories with it. Some specific songs will make you remember things that happened during that time.. Thank you for this, thank you for the nostalgia.
  • Evanescence deserves huge props for creating such a unique and distinctive sound, blending piano-driven rock with metal, classical, nu-metal, and gothic influences paired beautifully with Amy Leeā€™s haunting and emotional vocals as well as being one of the very few women in nu-metal and rock during this time. To think that Evanescence started as a humble songwriting partnership formed by two kids at a youth camp in rural Arkansas and almost never released music because of their awful label is such an amazing story. Always stay true to yourself and have faith in your craft!

I forgot how many hits Black Eyed Peas actually had.
  • Most nostalgic decade for me. I grew up with this music. Started as a 9 year old and was 19 back in 2010.
  • @jalinsvision
I basically knew every single one of these wow. Itā€™s so amazing how Lady Gaga literally debuted in 2008 and she came on the scene dominating so quick writing hit after hit!
  • @Dustin_Townsend
Never thought Nickelback would sound so refreshing šŸ˜†
  • P!nk is so underrated by this generation. She is in the business for three decades and has achieved an incredible status and fame that not many people have.
  • @colleenb6712
I remember every song on this list. The 2000s were the last decade to have diverse music being hits.
  • @blueneuville
Just travelled back in time to my childhood, so many memories
  • @phillinsogood
I miss the diversity in popular music. Ugh take me back
  • @lars5174
And slowly you can see rock music disappear from the mainstream and autotune taking over....sad
  • I was born in 1988 and my mom was always playing music my entire life, however, I got into music tremendously from 1999-2010. I miss this era so much! More than I could imagine to admit. I'll be 36 in February of 2024 and I have no idea what's next? No clue. Everything's unclear. Going back to school to start a new career though. Listening to these for motivation like I did all throughout middle & high school. Class of 2006 in the building!
