One of the most memorable moments in Tears of the Kingdom for me. It was incredibly brilliant of them to surround us with this flower after this cutscene 😭

The story is so underrated! And I think its because a lot of people are missing cutscenes like this. You can actually get through the storyline and miss stuff like this, but if you really take the time to search out all of the flashbacks, it really elevates TotK's story to a whole other level that is pretty emotional, and makes Zelda a very strong character.
  • Zelda was always fond of Silent Princess showers, but struggled to cultivate them, and could only get them to grow in the wild. She spent years of research to fail at this task. Yet strangely, the blossom around the final Dragon Tear. Her tears. In her sacrifice, her last thoughts were not of herself. Not of the pain and suffering she would endure as a Dragon, cursed to be alone, but instead her thoughts were filled with her kingdom, and Link. As a Dragon, she was cursed to wander the skies of hyrule, alone. Mindless and voiceless. A Silent Princess.

After watching the other memories that go with the geoglyphs about what happened in the past. Then watching this memory of her sacrifice of who she is. Really got me. Plus seeing her favorite flowers blooming where her last tear landed. That hite in the feels.😢

Zelda is watching over you at the very beginning of the game, where you see her flying around during the big jump/title sequence.
  • @Alkiryas
Now if you remember the initial dive with the title drop, there was a dragon in the background...and also when you dive from the sky someone parts the clouds...

200 years? Zelda's been up there a pinch longer. The Great Calamity before Breath of the Wild was 10,000 years ago. To put it in perspective, humans only figured out farming IRL 10,000 years ago. And there were multiple Calamities before then. And the civilization that did it was a sci fi future city so while we don't know the space of time between the Great Calamity and the Imprisoning War, i can assure you that its far, FAR longer than 10,000 years.

I have watched that cutscene so many times, it always breaks me.
  • @Dewulfi
Yeah the flowers got me aswell. Her favorite flowers...even mentioned in botw...only to be flowers that represent her..the silent princess.
  • Yeah the silent princesses at the end where the one thing that broke my heart into pieces 😢😢😢
  • @ChillyReaper
Now we know where the Silent Princess comes from. Zelda said in BOTW that it could not be grown domestically, and can only thrive in the wild. Also i believe its heavily implied, that its her favorite.
  • @CwapPlatinum
So that's why it's called Tears of the Kingdom. And yeah, Silent Princess is Zelda's favorite flower.

The dragon also appears just after the tutorial too
  • @mrdrybonestv
Between this scene and what happened to Sonia I was so ready to kick Ganondorf's butt.
  • @_Banjo_
As soon as they mentioned draconification in one kf the first memories, i knew where this was going. Took a guess she was the dragon flying around. If only i attempted to land on it sooner!

After finding out what Zelda did it really got me down :( I mean she did it to help Link but it really made me feel sad after watching that cut scene
  • I didn't load up a Zelda game expecting it to punch my emotions in the face, but it did, and I still don't know how I feel about that.
  • @tastypaste
She ended up waiting for between 10,000 and 15,000 years
  • I usually make puns to cheer someone up, but you could said that Zelda is now draGONE. 👍
  • @Rizky-Gumilar
I really love BOTW TOTK Princess Zelda character arc hope Nintendo keep continuing her story and not rebooting again for their next Zelda game
