Disney is back at it again with some more Star Wars content! Bam bam bam! They don’t stop! This time, it’s called The Acolyte and it takes place in a galaxy far far away.

The Acolyte definitely raises some questions. Like why doesn’t anyone communicate properly on this show? Why did that which turn into a monster to deliver good news? Why did that Sith take his pants off?

To answer all these questions, check out the pitch meeting that led to The Acolyte.

"Who's to say why character do the things that they do?" "You." Man that was good.

Watching a Pitch Meeting for a show you didn't watch and saving yourself 8 hours is tight
  • @nairrdlairrd
Lmao letting the chant speak for itself is just perfect
  • @Mgauge
"So there's no soul? Also that guy died." Perfect.
  • "If there is no miscommunication in this show, then there is no show" ahhh the highest form of storytelling. Truly a masterpiece.
  • I was expecting “So what’s their motivation, Osha and Mae. What do they want?” “I don’t know!”

"And this place is made of stone, so the fire spreads quickly." "What?" 😂😂😂
  • the silence about the chant was more brutal then any commentary he could make

The awkward silence after the chant is hysterical. Ryan's comedic timing is priceless.

"Oh stretching things out is tight! " "Paradoxically, yes. "

Even Ryan George couldn't make a joke about the chant, it's just that painful lmfao
  • I woke up this morning and saw something on the Acolyte. I thought to myself "Damn, a pitch meeting would be so funny for that show.". Here I am in the afternoon and I couldn't be happier

"Who's to say why characters do what they do?" 😂😂😂
  • Love that he doesn't even bother saying "a new Star Wars show", just straight up calls it "content".

This hit pretty much every single frustration I had with the show, well done! The only thing missing is the off-the-wall pacing. First two episodes are rushed as all hell, and then suddenly things slow down waaay too much. It's like if they had content for 6 episodes, rushed through the first four in two episodes, and then stretched the last two for six episodes. Also nobody stopped and considered if they were doing anything right..
