Max Verstappen is on another level in Formula 1 at the moment and is in the GOAT conversation at the age of 26. But, for me, there is a secret weapon that Verstappen has to put elevate himself above the other drivers on the F1 grid.

The huge advantage that Max Verstappen has over all the other drivers is that he doesn't have to beat Max Verstappen to win.

When you're in a dominant car people tend to forget that it's a phenomenal driver that makes it look easy. The thing is you need a dominant car and a phenomenal driver to make it look easy. I mean look at Checo. If he would've been the nr. 1 driver at RBR you wouldn't have known the car is that dominant.
  • The biggest skill Verstappen has is to have 0 tires left at the end of any given stint. right now there is no one able to extract pace from the tires like he is
  • Id say that Max's biggest strenght is that he can adapt so quickly to changing circumstances. Thats how he can stay that consistant. Max Verstappen is an absolute pleasure to watch while hes doing his thing.

Im very much a Norris fan so just thinking about Norris vs Verstappen championship makes me both happy and sad max is just too good tbh. The Redbull car is good but max is scary good.

Max is scary good. Like when Lewis was in a dominant car, it makes everyone around him look silly.

The secret weapon of Max is: HIS BRAIN! šŸ¤£ 1. He makes his own call. 2. He processes the situation and reacts fast enough. 3. He learns from mistakes in his early days and avoids making them again. It's the brain. That's no secret. šŸ¤£

He's also a beast in Sim racing. This guy has high IQ and Race intelligence.

Verstappen is probably the most comparable to a Schumacher and Prost hybrid with a bit of Senna, although his qualifying while very good isnt that 105% taht Leclerc has or Senna had. He is very cold and calculated, his racing instinct and racepace is like Schumacher while he has the consistency of Prost with his calculated moves.

Max is a driver who has the perfect combination between speed and consistency, right now only Lewis and Fernando who has that combination to challenge Max, while the other isn't have that yet Charles have the speed but not the consistency to challenge Max Lando have the consistency but not quite have the speed George being the number 2 to Lewis Hamilton
  • Norris, Russel and Leclerc are potential champions in the same way that Jensen Button was one and then became one when the stars aligned with that Brawn and its double diffusor. The main reason Rosberg retired was that he was fed up with a toxic team and most importantly a toxic teammate. Monza was just a return in kind for Silverstone. Hamilton should have been disqualified from the race and really, the whole season, like Schumacher when he tried to assassinate Villeneuve. Verstappen is under the same pressure as others. Perhaps more. He is relentless for himself. Others cannot put more pressure on him than he already does himself. Which is why he can shrug it off. Norris and Leclerc are two drivers to look at when you want examples of drivers who fail under pressure. Thus fast, but no true champion material.

The only question about Verstappen is how long he can keep up this incredible form. While he does, he will continue raking in World Championships. Also because Verstappen is not only a great driver, but he can also work with the rest of the team to keep improving the car.

Look at his laptimes... Its impressive how consistent these are šŸ˜® every round almost exact the same time.
  • @Chickentorchic
The fun in this season is that they say he makes it boring. Reminds me of Schumacher. Although I like a good battle for P1 his driving is absolutely insane given the right machinery.

Max doesnā€™t have a team that makes a car thatā€™s unreliable and eats tires. Red Bull doesnā€™t make strategy mistakes. Red Bull has a stable boss and employs great drivers and manages them well. Red Bull doesnā€™t have stupid engineers who donā€™t know how to fix the car. In short. Red Bull is not Ferrari

anyone seen that picture of Nando and Max when they are still (racing) kids ?! Loooks like Big brother with his little Brother. So cute.
  • @AdMartens
Max made mistakes in 2021, but Monza isnt one of them šŸ˜Š

A great driver in a car that suits him well have always been an unstoppable combination. F1 history is full of examples. Verstappen edges other F1 drivers out in two other characeristics as well; the will to win combined with the inability to accept defeat. Those are not the same thing.
