How to Make and Can Applesauce

In this video, we cook up a batch of applesauce!

Recipe (makes about 4.75 quarts):
11 lbs. apples (measured with the skins and cores)
1.5 cups of water
1 cup of sugar
3 tablespoons of lemon juice

1. Peel, core, and cut apples
2. Combine apples and water in a pot. Cook on medium heat
3. Puree apples when softened
4. Add lemon juice and sugar. Cook until sugar dissolves
5. Fill jars, leaving 0.5 in of headspace, and stir to remove trapped air
6. Process for 20 minutes.

*Sugar is optional and the amount can also be adjusted
*Add water or apple juice if applesauce is still too thick
* Applesauce can be left chunky or pureed until smooth
