Buying vintage supercars is tougher than it sounds. Even when you've reached terms both parties are happy with and the deal seems completely solid, people are unpredictable and often emotions take control of a situation. Sit back and hear about our deal with Mr. Hoover of Hoovie's Garage that ended up not being a deal at all..

Poor John! I really didn’t think I could afford to keep both. I still really can’t afford it, but I’m doing it anyway. I did encourage John to make this video-- name and shame me haha. I try really hard to maintain my “dumbest automotive channel” status and choosing not sell at least one of these Lambos to Curateed for a very fair price is yet another example of the endless bad decisions I’ve made.

Save yourself 14 mins: Hoovie nearly sold some Lambos to this guy but then didn’t.

You know how this works. He’s a car collector, not a seller. Nothing makes a collector want to keep a car more than knowing someone else wants it.

"Trying to fix things on small prices" Wizard's invoices: AM I A JOKE TO YOU???
  • @doug3512
This fool thinks Hoovie is @samcrac. Samcrac is the guy who fixes stuff cheap. Hoovie is the guy who loses his bankroll doing the deferred maintenance that other people skipped.
  • I disagree with your suggestion that Hoovie's MO is to fix cars as cheaply as possible. While he does in fact make a point of buying the cheapest...... In the US, it is quite the opposite when it comes to fixing these vehicles. He almost spares no expense, normally to his detriment. If you actually watch his videos you would know of the running joke between him and his mechanic is the lavish items The Wizard can buy each time Hoovie pays a bill. You have every right to your opinion about this specific situation but do some background checking before you make blanket statements.

Honestly ; I’ve watched all hoovie’s videos since his channel probably didn’t even have 30k subscribers. If you watched his channel; you’d know that this purchase was serrendipidy.. he couldn’t afford it but couldn’t let it pass. So he bought the 2 thinking one of his 3 lambos had to go before doing his taxes in April. As time went by he just couldn’t do it.. he was in love with all 3 of them and tried everything possible to keep them all, selling all the cars he could from his garage. Even his wife didn’t let him sell any of his lambos. Shopping around is really not his style. He is not money driven, he is a true passionate guy. He did not try to play you, trust me on that. The countach the diablo and the murciélago were 3 of his dream cars, each for a specific reason and he couldn’t let any go because he didn’t know if he would have the opportunity to own all 3 again. And John, you seem like a very Nice Guy; I think even now you are missjudging Tyler. He is quite the opposite of an oportunist and he is quite generous. He likes all type of cars, and mostly ends up losing money from what he buys. He’s an ex car dealer that had to stop doing it because he sucked at it because his passion and good heart always took the best of him.

I would remove this video immediately and hopefully salvage as much of my reputation as possible.

I think Tyler is one of the best people in this community. Him, wizard, Freddie, Jared, Ed, rabbit, and Doug from switch cars are all good dudes.
  • @alexbrewer4570
You're basically complimenting him the entire time, and upset he wanted to keep a car he fell in love with. No money was traded, no paperwork was signed, time to move on.

Business 101: If a deal falls through due to the seller changing their mind, the near buyer should attempt to shame them with a public video on the internet.
  • @ziggi4800
You can’t get mad at someone for not selling you a car especially when you aren’t out any money or haven’t exchanged any money.
  • @mariekfishing
Was on your side until u threw the Wizard under the bus. That was a step too far
  • @Theronj89
Have you actually watched hoovies channel he doesn’t cheap out on repairs he has the work done and pays a pretty good bill each time
  • @MrSchn3ll
It's helpful to remember not to judge a book by its cover - business comes and goes, but good people and friends are priceless.
  • @johnmunro4952
" as a seller" no pal, as a "potential" seller. Until money changes hands there is NO sale. Judging by the video Tyler did the other day, he's smarting about how he sold some cars too soon and that the market has gone supernova.

I certainly learned a lot about someone by watching this video. It absolutely demonstrates serious character flaws better than word of mouth stories ever could. Strangely, you did this to yourself and don’t seem to realize it. DidTyler do this to get a better price from a competing buyer? No. Did Tyler do this to surreptitiously get a buyer and cut you out as the middleman? Again, no. Did Tyler do this to get a free appraisal? No. Did Tyler sign anything and then “back out”? Once again, no. Did Tyler end up selling either car to *anyone*? No. Tyler fell in love with both cars. He couldn’t, in the end, overcome his passion for these cars and sell them. He had to sell other vehicles to cover the taxes. John, you go to great lengths to project yourself as being driven by your passion for these cars. In reality, this video shows that your passion is strictly for the money these cars bring. This video does a superb job showing you to be a petty, spoiled rotten brat of a used car salesman. You threw a temper tantrum because a person, in the end, decided that the cars meant more to them than your money. In my opinion, the “bad guy” in this video is you. I’m baffled as to why you made this video in the first place.

    This is literally a non-story.
