That strange facility on the top of the mountain was supposedly decommissioned decades ago, after the Final War. Still, no one's allowed up there, and some nights, you can hear weird sounds coming from up there. Oh well, best to not ask questions.

"It was just another day running comms on the ship. I was eating my favorite meal, fresh meat stew, with a warm cup of fruit punch. I had at least an hour left on shift and I'm usually the last one to turn in before the main crew gets up so no one else was awake. Suddenly, I was pinged by an unknown signal. I nearly fell over in response. As I came back to the computer I was shocked to see that this signal was being transmitted from inside the ship. I could not discern the nature of the message, but it seemed like a distress beacon. I checked the security cameras to see if there was any activity. Nope, nothing. I should probably go check the crew quarters." As you hide underneath the bunk bed of your cabin, you hear heavy footsteps creak on the metal floor of the ship's halls. The smell of blood is pungent in the air, mercurial, a stench so heavy it nearly drowns your senses entirely. That's when it walks in... "Guess everyone's still asleep", the creature says. You are frozen in fear. Amidst the black void of space, you are trapped.

A listening post or research facility, long ago "abandoned" after several incidents of townsfolk either disappearing or returning to the city below with unbelievable tales of "lights in the sky" and strange beings appearing out of nowhere capturing those who didn't run fast enough...

Arcology E-04 sealed itself seemingly for no reason five years ago. Communications cut out in the middle of conversations with its inhabitants; even the advanced AI running it gave no sort of warning before the blackout. After a short investigation, the government declared the arcology quarantined due to "unexpected biological contamination" and forbade all attempts to enter, upon penalty of death. Those intrepid explorers daring and clever enough to manage their way in anyway never returned. Until a week ago, Arcology E-04 sat silently, an unsolvable mystery. Then radio operators noticed a strange, unknown signal being broadcast on a common citizen's band. Faint and garbled nearly to the point of gibberish, only now has it been decoded and understood: A simple two-word advisory in a machine voice- "CONTAINMENT BREACHED".
