I’m YouTube’s American Presidents guy now, apparently, and breaking news 39 American Presidents have died. Now, some of them have been dead for awhile. In this video, we’re going to look at how every President in American history died.

I would argue that being President is the most dangerous job in the world. 18% of them have died while on the job. 9% of them were assassinated. In fact, there was a period of about 122 years in which EIGHT Presidents died WHILE IN OFFICE.

Now, you could say that Presidents tend to be older when they take office, and that is a fair point.

Which President's last words were your favorite? Mine were Nixon's and Tyler's. Also, what do you think of my new glasses? Don't forget, if you're in the market for glasses, get them through my link to help us both out. Try 5 pairs of glasses at home for free at warbyparker.com/mrbeat

Glad old Abe was enjoying a hilarious show before his mind was blown
  • the virgin “food is tasty” vs the chad “the nourishment is palatable.”
  • @BaePlatinum
"Death had to take Roosevelt sleeping, for if he had been awake, there would have been a fight" is the most hardcore thing anybody has ever said about anyone.
  • @aevenova9780
The fact Jefferson and Adams passed on the same day, on the 50th anniversary is just.... poetic 🇺🇸
  • "God, take me." Damn. Eisenhower got to give the order himself. Talk about a Commander in Chief.
  • John Tyler’s exchange with his doctor is terrifying. Essentially “Okay I’m gonna die.” “Please don’t?” “Might as well.”
  • @TransNFLGirl
Polk: *talks about how much he loved his wife* Grant: w a t e r

William's a Chad for loosing 100 lbs before going away. What an effort.
  • My grandmothers 13th birthday actually was on the day that JFK died. She said she was sitting in class, talking to all her friends as they wished her a happy birthday , and the overhead speaker turned on. They announced how the president had just been assassinated and she broke into tears. Even thinking about it every birthday makes her sad. She is currently 71
  • "If he was awake, there would be a fight" What a badass statement for Sir Roosevelt

“Water.” -Ulysses Grant, the 18 president of the United States of America, July 23, 1885.
  • A lot of those presidents died from heart problems or strokes...stress can often be a contributing factor to heart attacks and stroke. That is scary to think. Look at how they aged in just a few years in office. A lot of us like to talk trash about the presidents for not doing a good job, but just take a moment to realize how difficult a job it must be. Being POTUS is like being the single parent of a 3 year old.
  • Fun fact: Andrew Jackson had a pet African Gray parrot and its said at his funeral, the bird proceeded to swear as loud as possible in front of all the mourning tenants. He caused such a ruckus, he had to be carried out of the house in order for the service to continue.
  • I love that Coolidge knew the carpenter's name. Little things like that say a lot about someone's character.
  • That is so chilling from Grant saying "water" just before his death. That would be such a painful way to die basically slowly being suffocated by a cancerous growth in the throat.
  • fun fact, it took 175 years until one president surpassed John Adams advanced age of 90, Reagan was the first to surpass him but his predecessor Ford also did later on. They were followed by Bush senior and of course Jimmy Carter is still going strong
  • Polk's last words brought tears to my eyes. He passed peacefully, while being able to spend his final moments alone with his wife of 25 years, whom he professed his eternal love to before going. Nothing else was more important to him in his final moments besides his wife. No doubt the love they had was real, as she stayed a widow for 42 years after until her death. Makes sense why it was the last thing he wanted to say and for her to know before she could never hear him say it again. An incredibly sweet and lovely way to pass.

You forgot Jimmy Carter. Oh wait, it's Jimmy Carter who forgot to die.
