  • Lots of good information i didnt know some of this. Worst rookie mistake ive ever made is forgetting to turn the camera on lol 👍👍👍
  • Lots of great advice. And yup cards will definitely get corrupted. I now have 2-4 dedicated SD cards for each camera and just rotate them. Some, the files stay on until I am ready to use them. Also I always delete the files and reformat each SD card bf each use. I am lucky to have had someone that shared a lot of information with me in all of this stuff when I first got interested in trail cameras. Great of you to share what you’ve learned with others. Have a great week Dave, Char😊
  • Good advice! I've tried to simplify my trail camera life in the past year or two. I had a mix of brands when I first started, and I became very frustrated with cameras dying on me. Both cheap Tasco & more expensive Browning Dark Ops stopped working for various reasons. I would say I have 4 of each which are junk or I have tossed already. The expensive Browning cameras dying made me almost give up on trail cameras. Thanks to you, I discovered the Garde Pro E5 two years ago, & I bought 6 of them at various times when they were on sale for $40-59. They are the only trail cameras I currently use. I like taking an inventory of what deer are on my property. I am cutting back on trail camera use, but I will keep a few out there this coming season.
  • Awesome tips, Dave!! I actually seen the issue with the SD card from one camera going into another camera without being formatted first. The battery tips is spot on!!! Thanks for sharing these tips.
  • Great advice, thanks. I think we have learned the hard way on at least a couple of those
  • Nice video! It’s good to hear what to do in advice videos like this but also just as important to hear what not to do! These are some great tips, thanks for sharing
  • Great tips Dave. I have learned the hard way to always remove old batteries from the electronics I don’t use in the off season
  • Great tips Dave, another one is to double check that you turned it back to the on position before walking away, lol I just checked one of my cameras after not checking on it for 7 months, just to find out i didnt turn it on when i set it up, DOH!
  • Great info ! Hence the saying never to old or to smart to learn something !
  • My way of mounting is that I PRE MOUNT my cameras and solar panels on a board at my home and pre-drill a hole at the top and bottom of the board (usually 1" X 6" X 12"). I then transport it to my land and climb the ladder 16' and have my electric drill and two 2" drywall screws ready to go, and in less than 1 minute, I'm back on my feet and finished. I prefer cellular cameras. I am currently using VYZE-LINK, but, next time I'm going to RIOLINK as I run 10 of them around my home and love them. They are a bit costly but worth it. Got my first VYZE cellular camera complete for $79 and it was a perfect test camera for my first CELLULAR CAMERA experience.
  • @Bbbb4life
This is very helpful. Thanks so much!
  • @Nhc-t3g
Thanks these are very useful tips indeed I really do appreciate it.
  • Good tips. Back to the sd cards, it's a good idea to have dedicated cards for each camera. Have at least 2 for each if you swap them out. I number each of my cameras and also the cards I use in them so there's no chance of corruption from a different camera model.
  • @daveshsb
Great tips Dave! You have a lot of trail cameras - wow!! I have been guilty of a couple of the - do not do but learned my lesson!
