The Ordinary and Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid 10% | 4 Weeks Before and After Pictures | Split Face

Published 2021-01-17
I have tested The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% Suspension and Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid 10% Booster for one month to see how the products perform. I used the products in the morning and evening after Cetaphil Gentle skin cleanser, and I used La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Fluid as a moisturizer.

I’ve been using the ordinary azelaic acid for 2 months now and it’s great! It cleared my dark spots & acne but just pealed so much with my moisturizer. I really want to try the Paulas choice and see if it has a better texture !

You have beautiful skin! I tried the booster & now I use the suspension. I don't think it's really done anything but maybe over time it will. Those of us prone to redness have to do things slowly & then we get results slowly.

HI Melissa. I have used both of these products, I tried 'The Ordinary' a bit because of the price but mainly I can't get 'Paula's Choice' from the Australian webstore anymore (new Australian regulations). I agree with you, 'The Ordinary' burns and itches, leaves my skin feeling dry and powdery. I really like 'Paula's Choice, it feels nice on the skin and looks nice too, it burns a tiny bit, but it's brief and it's marvelous at preventing acne on my skin. I'm going to have to jump through some hoops to get it here (New Zealand) - but it's worth it.

This is such a great study, thank you so much for doing this and sharing your results with us 🙏
  • Awesome. I bought both in sale and was looking for the differences. Will return TO now. I do not like filmy layer on my face.

Oddly enough azelaic acid is not available in 🇨🇦 - so must purchase from abroad!

  • @vennielew
Very interesting. Are you sleeping on the side with blemishes; i think you should continue for another month for a stronger study

It's ok to use a glycolic acid toner and then put on a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid? Pixi toner and CeraVe moisturizer to be exactly.

After watching this video, I wondered if you sleep more on one side of your face more than the other, which might affect recurring blemishes.
  • I’d like to try the Paula’s Choice but I’m not sure if the salicylic acid in it might irritate my pustule rosacea more. Do you know if salicylic acid would tend to irritate acne-prone rosacea skin? Thanks!!
