Tameside Court in Hattersley, on the outskirts of Manchester, is the last of 8 blocks of flats to be demolished in the vicinity. The 11-storey, 150ft building was erected in the 1960s. Most of the others were demolished in the traditional manner using high explosive, but the proximity to other housing necessitated this painstaking method using a long reach JCB.
