Glad to write one last chapter before closing the book 🖤
  • This isn’t a FNAF song, this is a song about Nate’s perspective on FNAF. It’s kinda sad to hear this is how he’s felt all this time. But no, we won’t leave you behind.
  • Someone in the comments confirmed it, but this being a song about your feelings on the series, rather than about the series itself makes this one special. You've been here for me through your music, so I can at least repay the favor and listen to your new stuff
  • @Maple_774
"Another melody of somebody's story, I'll finally admit I don't care" "Ready to wake up from this nightmare" "If I say what's on my mind will they all leave me behind" "So many years I thought it was ending" "So I gotta reach out and write an ending, an ending for myself" Both rap parts and chorus's as well, specifically "Wanna know the day I knew nobody pray for me? The day somebody told me your legacy" That line hits the hardest imo. This is the ultimate goodbye FNaF (and other fandoms) song. On the first listen I was catching all the references, on the second and third I started actually listening to the lyrics without connecting it to the past songs and man, it's rough. I personally love the original stuff, the fact that we only have 2 albums of purely original music (aside from 'Heroes Never Die', that's basically an Overwatch song) in the 10 years you've been doing music is crazy to me. I miss the fancy music videos and lyrics that didn't involve games or shows/anime. I look forward to the future where we (hopefully) get more of that stuff. Also one more thing to note that I find interesting, nearly 7 years ago, October 31st of 2015, 'The Finale' was released. Back when we all thought it was over, and here we are 8 years later with the series still ongoing.
  • I absolutely love how personal this song is. One of the things I enjoy most about Nate's songs is how expressive they are, how much emotion is packed into each lyric and note, this being especially the case with his originals. This may be the end of an era, but that doesn't mean the next one won't be even better - and I honestly can't wait to see what's in store for us in the future.
  • We’ll never leave you behind. The music you’ve been able to give us will stick with us forever. Half my workout playlist is your originals and covers. Thank you for what you’ve made.
  • Lyrics: Maybe I could say it's the last time Or maybe I could say I'm scared Another melody of somebody's story I'll finally admit I don't care It's been years and I can feel the end is near 'Cause I'm burnt out and I'm mangled Ready to wake up from this nightmare Wake me up Before I close the book I always flip to the start I just tryna get a look Of why I'm sick of the art It all began with a spark The power, fame, dollars and chance took the charge Made me less than its parts I didn't want it this way I used to long for this day Yeah the money was great But sucked me into this phase And now the dream that I was chasing Seems to chain me in place 'Cause this game it just takes And it takes and it takes Will I rot away? If I said what's on my mind Will they all leave me behind? I thought I was safe Thought that I'd see brighter days Was I a shadow meant to fade all along? Did I lose my way from pretending? Another suit without a soul So many years I thought it was ending But it opened up and swallowed me whole No happy endings Will rise and show themselves So I gotta reach out And write and ending And ending for myself Before I close the book I always skip to the end See will I ever fall in love With making music again Or did I give up all my passion and friends To run a factory line That I'll just replace when I finally left Yo, wanna know the day I knew nobody pray for me The day somebody told me this your legacy This is what you'll stay to be Unless you make a break 'Cause this game it just takes And it takes and it takes It's been years There ain't nothing for me here I was broken and alone But now I'm home Will I rot away? If I said what's on my mind Will they all leave me behind? I thought I was safe Thought that I'd see brighter days Was I a shadow meant to fade all along? Will I rot away? If I stand up and say Say what plagues my mind Will they leave me... Will you leave me behind? My god with that lyrics. We will miss you Nate <3
  • Holy shit. I was not expecting this one to be as obviously personal as it was. I've said this dozens of times before, and hundreds of us are saying it now, but I have always been here for your journey more than anything. Sandcastle Kingdoms and Paid in Exposure are two of the best albums I've ever heard, and that's because they're you. At least, I hope they are, because they really feel like they're coming from somewhere genuine. I've been waiting for you to take us back to that place for a damn good while. I cannot wait to see where you take us next, Nate, there isn't a chance in hell I won't be along for the ride.

AMAZING! I loved the callback to Salvaged and Home before the second chorus, and the chorus itself is poetic! Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a little sad to see these fandom songs go, but I’m so glad you’re giving them such an amazing finale, Nate. Keep doing what you do best; your music is amazing, I love it all so much. You’re a legend. Again, this has all been amazing, for all the years we’ve been blessed with your fandom music, and we will continue to be with your original music, just as much as these fandom songs after their end. Thank you for all the years of amazing and poetic music, and hopefully even more to come as time goes on. You and all the rest of Give Heart Records are legends, Nate. I wish you all the best for your careers and your futures.

I won't lie, I'm gonna miss your FNAF songs. They're iconic to me. But it doesn't change that your talent goes far past making fandom songs. You have been and always will be my favorite artist Nate. Thanks for the amazing song, and can't wait to see what's next 👍

I nearly lost it at the Salvaged reference because it’s always been my uncontested favorite fnaf song of all time. This song feels less like a song about fnaf itself but Nate’s decision to move on, wondering if we’re gonna leave him since he’s leaving fnaf. The lyrics themselves also perfect for any sort of situation I want to imagine in my head since I relate to them. It mentions the way fnaf sucked millions of people in and how Nate feels almost trapped in it when making music. Lastly, the first transition from Cam to Nate was phenomenal.
  • Nate, your music really helped me through some rough shit in my life these past couple years. And for that I'm forever grateful. No matter what path or career or journey you embark on, know that me and many other fans will stick with you til the end! You're not a shadow meant to fade, Nate. You're a light that guides the way! Keep on following your dreams! And thank you. Keep on rocking!
  • Okay so… 0:53 Salvaged reference, possible Mangled and Nightmare mention 1:40 Hold On to You and/or We Are Ignited reference 1:54 Salvaged reference 2:25 Salvaged reference 2:31 Home reference 2:55 chords reminiscent of The Finale 2:57 Heavy Metal Nate (This is the End, Nothing Left to Want) (I may have missed some tbh) This song manages to both reference a ton of his older works, while still serving as a goodbye to the series Nate’s poured so much of his life into. I have nothing but respect for him, and Nate, I hope you succeed in whatever you decide to do next. Thank you!
  • So glad I've kept up with with Nate's music for nearly a decade. I can't wait to see what new things he has in store for us. Even if this chapter has ended, we'll never leave him behind
  • @landong99
The slight run during “rot away” makes me smile every time, damn Nate hasn’t missed all these years and I’m so excited for what comes next. ❤
  • God I’m gonna miss him, but I’m excited to see some more of his personal music, like what he did with his Sandcastle Kingdom and Paid In Exposure albums. I bitter but sweet send off from the fandom music community. WE LOVE YOU NATE ❤ Edit: I’m also interested in what the rest of Give Heart Records has to offer, Shawn Christmas has got some BANGERS!!!
  • @AmaneKoruba
The name of the establishment being named "NWTB" and a big theme of the song seeming to be passion turning into a factory and leaving it behind. This is some deep messaging... and it sounded great! Thanks so much for the music, Nate! I've loved it from when I first discovered your channel all those years ago with the Pokemon XY shooting star cover to now. Will always be here, never leave you behind. Big fan of Cam as well, such a great sounding rapper and fit so perfectly, loved when you were on his Pokemon villain cypher.
  • @superlife2091
This is a song disguised a FNAF song and frankly this is the content I love from you dude, the most of us ain’t going anywhere after this album. You’re the first artist I ever actually paid to support. And I’ll keep doing that when I have the chance.
  • Don’t worry Nate, none of us are going to leave you. Regardless of the topic or subject matter, your music is always awesome! Hope you can find that spark and enjoy making music again!
  • Two of my favorite creators making a powerful song together- we won’t leave you guys. You deserve what you’ve worked for, trust your gut and do what you love- the real ones will follow. Love 🖤
