Back in my trades days, houses ran below $100K (4:5 applicants only qualified for a $60K loan) and a significant number of builders threw in a pool (with well and septic) to boost that house up toward a $100K sweet spot to land that VA loan. Fast forward 20+ years and well/septics are vanity because everyone has to hook up to city services anyway, the cheapest existing house runs over $250 regardless of pool, and folk caught on to the fact that almost all pool owners read their print news beside their pool but rarely get into it. I'd have purposefully overlooked it ... but I didn't know POOL was a stock.

Markets won't do what you want them to do, so when they do, take advantage.

People have realized it is not worth owning a Pool because it is too expensive and not worth the money.

If you think long term, which good investors do, you realize certain sectors are hampered by high interest rates meaning at the moment there are some quality stocks available at good valuations. Once the inevitable cuts happen, we will seen a broadening out.

I wonder what the best opportunities to invest now are, there are opinions but a little later I find out these opinions don't matter as a totally different turn of events play out with the stocks they discussed therein...

Any opportunity in the Air Source Heat Pump Energy Sector? Sweden 60% conversion to date for example. Bosch, Samsung, LG, Mitsubishi, Daikin etc. ? Net Zero Portfolio perhaps.

What are the best strategies to protect my portfolio? I've heard that a downturn will devastate the financial market, so I'm concerned about my $200k stock portfolio.,.
