In the ‘80s, they were two of the biggest musical sensations in the world, but rumors always swirled that Michael Jackson and Prince didn’t get along. While Prince himself denied on multiple occasions that there was any feud between himself and the King of Pop, other people who saw the two interact believed otherwise. Both singers have obviously since sadly died, which might just leave things a mystery forever, but let’s take a look at the evidence we do have as we try to uncover the truth.

Here’s what the world never knew about the alleged feud between Michael Jackson and Prince.

Prince's greatest hits or Michael's greatest hits?

According to people close to Prince, when MJ died, Prince locked himself in his room for 1 week and refused to see anyone. He mourned him so there was some sort of respect or bond between them.

I feel like Prince enjoyed messing with MJ, but on some level deeply respected him as an artist. It's just that when you have two fierce rivals who're both young and on top of the world, the competitiveness has a meaner edge to it. I'd bet money that the older they got, the more they appreciated having each other as rivals throughout a great era of music.

“In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.” ― Michael Jackson

I loved MJ for his dancing, song writing and singing and never liked Prince until I heard Purple Rain and him playing different guitar solos and of course realized that he was extremely talented. Both were brilliant in their own way and it is sad that they are no longer here.

I met prince in London, yes he was very straight to the point and very honest to a fault about how he felt. But that's why I liked him, no BS.
  • Meanwhile Prince already spoke about the rivalry. He said there was no rivalry and the media created it

I want to hear Prince's version of Bad. That's gotta be EPIC.

In one word I'd say that, they both are LEGENDS and there will never ever be another one like them 🙏🙏. RIP to both of them😌. Tho I'm more of a MJ fan😁.
  • Maybe it was a friendly rivalry that was occasionally. Meaning they couldn't stand each other but they respected each other's work.

Must’ve been a brotherly love/hate relationship. I also heard prince took michael’a side during the child molestation trails.

They’re both too amazing to compare, and we were so lucky to have both
