This tractor is a 1957 Gard'n Mast'r built by Garden All, powered by a Briggs and Stratton series 23 9hp engine (made in December of 1956). My Dad bought it in the early 60's and used it to help build the family home, and plowed the driveway with it for many years. I used it in the '80's for tractor pulling in the 4-H club, with my heaviest pull dragging 5400 lbs on a skid. My Dad used it a bit in the 90's, and then its pretty much been sitting ever since. In this video I evict the mice that have been living in it, and try to get it running again.

One note, the rear tire I bought says Agstar 8-16 on the side, but it was called Ag-Dura 1630 on the listing where I bought it with no mention of the Agstar name.

After buying a garden tractor for the first time about 2 years ago, I'll never be without one again. They are so maneuverable and can fit into the tiniest spaces and down the smallest paths, and yet can haul and pull so much more than a person. They can tow small utility trailers, pull dead vehicles, and there are lots of attachments for them if you want to use them for gardening/yard maintenance. It's amazing what they can pull after being outfitted with a set of ag tires and wheel weights.
  • Thank goodness for Low-Buck Garage. Just when a guy needed a pick me up. Thanks for these wonderful uplifting videos.

NGL, mini tractor pulling sounds like a heck of a lot more fun than the full size. Like this is actually challenging. Neat stuff.

That carburetor looks in really good shape for 1957. That brass looks brand new!

  • 😎 🚜 I Really like my briggs & Stratton tractor, the Engine is Awesome. I use my tractor 🚜every year to plow Snow off my driveway and sidewalk. The same motor has been running perfectly "knock on wood" for more than 15 years since I bought it! 👍
