In the year 2020 my friend died of leukemia and when I watched a playthrough of this game I didn't expect it to hit so far home. He only lived to 16 when he died, but when he did he never ceased to bring joy to others and be a witness. Thank you Stephen Kipfmiller, you will always be remembered

I believe the purpose of this video is to show people who feel like there life is just one big mess up. That it really isn’t, that you’ve had such a great impact on others. You just got to caught up on the bad things in your life. Wanting something else without seeing that what you have is good already. This game helped me.

Still haven't been able to find any video that show the ending with the perspective of the Ferryman telling the story which appears when you blink during this scene

Fun fact: The gate keeper is shown as a cat with 2 tails - According to Japanese mythology, if a cat is incredibly well cared for and loved during its life, it becomes a two tailed cat spirit - implying that after Earnie came in through the window, she was spoilt and pampered with affection the rest of her life <3

Memento mori. that is the over all theme of this game. in fact the symbols for it are everywhere in the game. the skull, the wilting flower in the vase, and the hour glass can be seen everywhere. it means remember death, and its a complex concept that inevitability of death brings beauty and purpose to life and that we must live every day to the fullest as death grows ever near and this game captures that concept fully perfectly.

I think it actually hits harder if you switch between Mom and Ferryman every phrase It really pulled my heartstrings when that happened

Just finished a play through. When the girl gives you the letter saying you were her first love to I choked up. And the ending, thank god it stops skipping forward, I think I was blinking nonstop.

This game had be balling the whole way through. Even in the happy moments

Every time i watch the ending of this game.. The "He was everything he needed to be. Just as he was" makes me cry so much, since I was a Kid I had self-steem problems, but my parents where always there, to give me some.. And im so gratefull for that, that phrase that the mother says, everyone needs to someone who tells you that, you are everything you need to be, just as you are.

This game is the only one that has made me cry and made me rethink my outlook on life.. It even hits really close to home since my dad died in the summer of 2021. It reminded me how short life is and how you shouldn’t take what you have for granted. I think that if some one is present in the moment, then everything will be ok.

I will forever remember this moment. When the wolf tell your story to the gatekeeper, I was trying my best not to cry until my eyes were too heavy holding back the tears and i have to blink, then the scene shift to mom telling Benny the same story yup, the dam broke. by the time I reach the end, smiling with tears rolling down my face then the game hit me with “Why is he smiling like that?” “He must be somewhere he likes.” yup, there's no stopping this torrent of feel now
