  • During my breaks I am watching all of your videos. I am a medical student right now and if I become a doctor in the future I want to become someone like you 🙏 Thank you for showing honesty and compassion to the people. You are helping a lot of people.
  • You don’t see a lot of family medicine doctors pushing prevention and optimization…wish more doctors did this! I appreciate your work and video.

I know from experience that alcohol will destroy your gut bacteria. I found out by drinking vodka on a regular basis and then I started getting bloated all the time. It was in a word, embarrassing. Grains too from eating lots of corn chip products and sugar too. I agree on all of those specifically, and acid reductors too. He's pretty much dead on with his advice. Keto doesn't give me lots of gut problems. I'm 58 now and I can't eat all the junk and drink lots of liquor. My body rebels!!!

Summary: Don't forget to leave a 👍 1. Avoid sugars and starch 2. Avoid grains 3. Avoid vegetable/seed oils 4. Avoid processed foods (eat whole, real food) 5. Avoid alcohol 6. Be cognizant of medication you take. Strong course of antibiotics may negatively effect gut bacteria. Prebiotic perhaps? Beware of PPI and anti-depressants. 7. Eat more meat and eggs. Bonus: 1. Avoid artificial sweeteners. 2. Avoid treated water, reverse osmosis filter recommended. Thanks for the info Doc, you're awesome.

2 weeks ago I had to have a prostate biopsy, the preparation is antibiotics (ciprofloxacin) and a shot the day of the procedure. I was worried about my gut afterwards, so I loaded up up on kimchi and good Greek (full fat) of course yogurt, and a lot of nuts. I was regular in no time. I’ve learned a lot from You Tube University, my favorite professors are Ken Berry and Sten Ekberg. Biopsy was negative yeah.

Awesome info, Doctor Ken. You're helping a lot of people!
  • @Absvrd666
This is really so important, what has happened to me and many others is that after antibiotics you feel more depressed than ever because all your good bacteria that makes dopamine and such are affected so keeping a healthy microbiome is essential for being happy

I just started keto a week ago and I've been watching your videos. Really great info
  • @marvin834
Great advice and so refreshing that you mentioned tap water, chlorine, fluoride and water distilling etc. There's alot of good advice on YouTube regarding diet, carnivore, keto and the microbiome. But I've never seen any mention the water we drink and its always frustrated me as to why they seem so reluctant to go into it, so thanks for that. Subscribed! 👍🏻

I LOVE YOU DR.BERRY!!!! Really appreciate the video on Metformin and taking methylated Super B Complex. My pharmacy had advised that the methylated is no different than the regular super B complex. Glad you mentioned in the video that pharmacies will say this! I used the link in that video to buy some off of Amazon. Love it!

Oh my gosh! I was asking questions about this in your Live the other night. I'm so glad you made a video on it. Thank you! The Q&A's below have lots of info that I wanted as well. I understand no sugar, no starches, etc. will be the best thing I can do for my microbiome. However, is it also a plus to eat real yogurt and fermented foods like sauerkraut, real fermented pickles (not just ones you buy at store in vinegar)? I was told by a friend I should also add a tablespoon of fermented pickle juice to my cup of bone broth (when its heated up and ready to eat). I don't like fermented foods so they thought that would help me get more fermented juices into my system. Good idea or waste of time?
