  • Sadly, not enough people know that cats need dental cleaning, preferably regular brushing by their human but also a dental de-plaquing every six to twelve months. They rely upon their teeth as much as we do, ours, so it's important we do the right thing by them to maintain the best dental health for them. Also important for dogs.
  • Since cats are people and are considered citizens too, they can also be considered your children
  • Hey Facts about Cats, do you plan to cover uncommon and less recognised cat breeds? Personally I do have an adopted cat - an Aegean. I had never heard about that breed before I went to the adoption centre, and I am curious about how the uncommon breeds compares to the common ones.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 80% of orange tabbies are boys. Cats only have 19 pairs of chromosomes compared to 23 in humans, and the orange tabby gene happens to be on the X chromosome. Since girls get 2 X chromosomes and boys only get one, you only get an orange tabby girl if she gets the orange tabby gene from both parents. Boys only need one copy of the gene and they get it from mom, who's usually a calico. Red hair pigment in humans and cats is chemically identical, and they often have similar genetic health risks that they share with their fellow gingers on two legs.
