  • For those of us that DO see what the supreme court is flirting with, it feels like we have NO say in what they do. We vote, and that matters very much, but that institution is beyond any control we have because they're appointed for LIFE. Regardless of the will of the majority. It's very frustrating to say the least.

Our justice system is so slow until it's painful. We The People is not asking for the Lady justice to do Cheetah flips, only our justice system to act.
  • @batgurrl
Lawrence’s commentary is always informative and his snide delivery, ‘hits the spot for me’.
  • Prof Snyder, we see what we are flirting with and are horrified.
  • @user-98k5lm
Andrew Weissmann and Lawrence O'Donnell. It's a great morning.👍
  • @MrOpaulo
    Good Morning Mr O'Donnell
Always the greatest reporting. Its a pleasure spending this morning with you
  • I'm not flirting with someone above the law. I'm horrified by the criminal defendant and scrotus
  • @steverimnac526
This what happens when you let one person be above the law.
  • That is a great question Lawrence and had It been me addressing the absolute immunity case to the Supreme Court, I would have asked them to address the merits of the case instead of them making up hypothetical scenarios non related to the case in front of them. Every time they would veer off into another hypothetical, I would again say to them to address the merits of the case.
There is no absolute immunity clause in the constitution and even the lawyers and senators that presided in Trumps impeachment trial said that he could be held accountable by the justice department for any crimes he committed while in office, but lets be clear! He didnt commit just any crimes, he committed crimes against the constitution itself. The framers of this country even put in safe guards in the constitution so that a president can be held accountable ... One of which is impeachment and the republican party failed their oath to uphold the constitution when they voted not to impeach Trump.
The SCOTUS is at this point is a JOKE! They are not there interpreting law, they are there in furtherance of a political candidate. PERIOD!
  • The thing is when they ask a question they already have the answer. It never makes sense to lie
  • @tinat.4508
I my opinion this is what will take him down.. the classified documents case!
  • @jenolson577
I love the way he says everyone’s given name. It makes it so easy to follow.

Mr. Synder's point in the final segment is paramount. The very fact that SCOTUS agreed to hear anything related to "absolute immunity" is itself an outrage as this should not be dignified by a hearing in this forum. This was not helped by Alito's "I'm not interested in the facts in this case. I'm only interested in this idea in the abstract." SCOTUS has fully entered crazytown.
  • Every time Lawrence read the abbreviation FPOTOS (former pres), it sounded like he was swearing at Trump and gotta admit, I really enjoyed that! Lol.
  • This is a rock-solid case. Trump knows his only recourse was to petition the SC and hope they rule that he/former presidents have absolute immunity.

We can go through all of this until we are blue in the face. That crook is never going to prison and will never be held accountable.
