"We built a lot of fast muscle cars and then we built a lot of fast police cars to chase them" - what a great business model!
  • This video is about the car. Jay is having fun talking shop. Let's enjoy that and leave his health to him. Most of us won't be half as energetic as jay at (74) he's an automotive rock star.
  • @illusioNery
My God, I hope his collection becomes a museum and never broken up because all those cars are one of a kind

A local small town near me had a severe flood losing 2 new Charger Pursuits. They asked Dodge for 2 replacement v6 cars but dodge was on back order for base V6. When Police told Dodge what happened they immediately sent the town 2 fully equipped new Hemi cars for FREE simply stating "We wanted to help". Respect.

"It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas."

Jay, thank you for being such an incredible and lasting face of late-night TV. Your humor and warmth brought joy to countless homes, and your ability to keep things wholesome and steer clear of divisive politics was truly admirable. You kept a smile on everyone's face for years, and we are all so grateful for how you conducted yourself. Wishing you and your wife strength, love, and peace as you navigate this challenging time. Thank you for the years of laughter and for being such a remarkable presence in our lives.
  • I'm not sure what's sadder. Seeing Jay get older or a review of the last Charger PPV. I hope Jay keeps going, he's earned it.
  • @WFO.
Tim Kuniskis will be truly missed at Dodge! Truly a great car guy 🏁

Years ago here in the UK Ford used to spec their Police vehicles with even uprated door hinges and stronger seats, because of the exceptional use that the cars were subjected to. It's not just brakes, suspension, transmission, etc. that are upgraded.
  • It is a shame that Tim No longer is with Stellantis, I do wish him the best of luck wherever he lands or hopefully just enjoys life and retirement. His legacy surely will be missed, I've been driving Mopars for 38 years and I hope for another 38 years !

Jay is 74yrs old but the wear and tear of his life is taking its toll. He sounds much older, god bless him. Hope we continue to have him for many more years!

One of my favorite stories was about a Navy friend of my brother driving west on I 70 in Sunbeam Tiger that he modified the 289 to 302 Boss heads and seeing headlights in his rear view mirror creeping. More pedal, the closer the headlights behind him came. The undulating hills hid the headlights for times…but they kept closing the distance with every speed change. Then he saw the headlights behind him just yards and two twin rotating red lights suddenly activate. It was a Dodge Polaris 440 police interceptor.
  • "...pass Chrysler row..." "Those are usually in front of us." LOL

Jay is one stand up guy. Still doing what he loves in front of the camera. Love the show!
  • @Justacogg
I worked on police cars in my shop all the time. I had multiple contracts between state and local municipalities. I saw how police cars were built to a higher standard mechanically Then I started buying police cars from those minimality as my daily driver . I truly enjoyed every one of them, including a rare Dodge magnum police car package. If I heard right in the video, Jay has the last charger police car! If true, it could have no better Stewart to keep the car in perpetuity for all to see later generations ! Thank you, Jay Leno’s Garage!
  • @JeepinBoon
For several years, Alabama had corvettes, mustangs, escalades, etc. police vehicles. On the back glass was a sticker that said along the lines of, "Paid for by drug dealers".
  • Lol "Its like walking around with a rolled up sock in your pants"
  • Remember the old Adam 12 TV show where the older cop gives the rookie cop the description of the squad car? He made it sound so cool.
  • @LY3355
Jay- I wish you the best health. Thank you for the many years of these videos. Take care of yourself. We need you around for a decade more! 🫡
