One of the best examples in gaming history of being tone deaf and a missed opportunity for a game of the year title.

can u at least in the near future let us walk around on our ship or maybe the ship's deck to feel more immersed (out of combat)

“Making a pirates life for fans” even tho I can’t sit down at a tavern, down some rum and start a brawl, I can’t duel someone with a flintlock and cutlass, the boarding is reduced to a quick animation rather than actually going on a ship like in black flag where you could literally swing from a rope onto the enemies vessel, and hunting for buried treasure and exploration is reduced to walking around and staring at ancient ruins without any interaction, no animals, enemies, obstacles to create tension, you just walk around. The naval combat in black flag was amazing and what they’ve done here and built upon from that game in terms of naval combat is also amazing, but that was only half the intrigue. I want to man a cannon or a swivel gun myself, carefully navigate ancient ruins, avoiding traps, running across rickety bridges, get drunk at a tavern and sing a shanty. Ubisoft you’ve only done half the shift

How to make it a great game: -Remove timed inputs -let us move on the ship -let us board big ships -let the character use guns and melee weapons -let us raid some settlements -add pirate minigames like drinking or walk the plank to play with other players -instead of collecting resources let us land on the island and collect it ourselves with the tools -add something to explore on the islands, not just a settlement -maybe let us hop on other people's ships and pilot them or climb to the crow's nest. Also let us shoot our personal firearm or swing our sword against enemies boarding the ship

If the combat is as good as they’re hyping up, the map is a good size and there’s plenty to explore, plenty of different types of enemies/factions, plenty of customization, then I actually think this might not be half bad

All we want is sword and gun play. We don't want to just control a ship
  • Honestly I'll give Skull and Bones a fair chance. Rather from my own opinion on this one and sing a pirate chanty or three playing this.

are we going to be able to own like a 3+ mast ship like for example man o war or something like that? or is it only 2 mast ships
  • @Captnjack420

There are two major issues with skull & bones first: It is impossible for a smaller ship / lower level ship to take down a player in a larger ship. Meaning that the biggest ship always wins no mather skill, equipment or anything. Oh yes i do understand that a beginner ship should have a really difficult time sinking a brigantine for example, but yet the possibility still needs to exist if the smaller ship is just really good. Secound: Very limited space to explore Ofcourse the game has is still in development and in BETA for atleast another year, so much can come to change but at the moment these are the major issues. Smaller details: - Why is the ability to board a ship only possible with low HP ships, it should be avalible after cutting down a mast, the chance of getting a succsessfull board is lower the more HP the target has. - I understand that just jumping of the ship at any giving time to board would not work, but it would be great if you could fight on the enemy ship while boarding. - Give my character a voice! Note: No there is litterally not many ways to play the game, Sink boats get better boats and sink more ships. That is the one and only way to progress.
  • I started playing the beta today and I must say, I've had a good time in the first 2 hours I've played. It looks great, sounds great and feels great. I play on PC, I have had no crashes, bugs, lag or anything like that in my 2 hours so far.

How do y'all counter the fact that we can't catch up to the fast ship even with a fast ship, since their max speed is the same and there is no way, currently, to make that encounter dynamic?
  • @Gartist45
Be nice if you could explore islands and find treasure and fight enemy there.

I loved a little pirate/ship action-rpg game called Windward - and quite a bit of SnB reminds me of a far more advanced version of that game - which, as far as I'm concerned, is nothing short of fantastic =)
