that barbie game is genuinely terrifying to me. the music is like, dreamy but in a scary way, like dissociating, along with the visuals and all, the whole thing feels soulless and purgatorial. like, this is every little girl's dream, to ride a horse around town with barbie forever. and now you're here. you got what you wanted, so why would you ever leave? not only is there no way out, but you have the expectation to enjoy it forever. you keep going far past your point of enjoyment, only for the fear of how dissapointed people would be about you abandoning your dream come true, even when you've been here for what feels like months. trapped in your truest fantasy, expected to indulge forever.

I had that garfield game when I was a kid. My memories about that game were repressed until now. I remember getting stuck on that first level because of the wasp and the glue. Took me nearly a year of trying to play that game to figure out how the mice worked.
