Inside Out honestly feels better this way because it gives us room to appreciate Riley. It really reinforces the point made in the sequel that our emotions don't define us.

The funny thing is there's still a story that makes sense, even though you don't see the emotions. There's a girl named Riley who grows up with her parents. They move to a new city. She doesn't fit in at school, because she's new, and gets into an argument with her parents, causing her to storm off into her room. She misses a goal in hockey, making her angry, and wanting to leave. She has a nightmare later that night, giving her the idea to go back to her hometown. She eventually realizes her mistake, and reunites with her parents, in tears because she misses home. Her parents agree, and says they miss home too. The best part is this makes a perfect story, and it would make a perfect Pixar short film.

The most unrealistic part is when the bus driver stopped right away

Inside out just focusing on Riley, feels like it would have been a great narrative all its own, a nice short film.
  • Alternative title: What happens to your child if you move - A short film

Bro I never realized she actually embodies “You ever see someone and wonder, ‘What is going on inside their head?’”
  • So Inside Out would be 13 minutes long if she didn't have emotions

This would've been a Pixar Short Film without the emotions.

The fact watching this makes me realize Pixar effectively had to write 2 films at the same time. you have the story of Riley's emotions And then you have a darker more down to earth Life of Riley and the depression that comes from change.
  • I love how you can clearly notice something without the emotions, this actually shows that Riley was going through puberty, and pre-teenage depression. I never actually noticed that! Edit: ok guys I know already Riley didn’t go through puberty but she went through pre-teenage depression, ok? Edit 2: how the fudge did this get 1K likes this fast what the-
  • Please combine Inside Out and Inside Out 2 without emotions! That would connect the story and makes Riley movie

What I like abt older pixar movies like this is that it didnt feel so forced the relationships, it feels so real like, its very relatable
  • Riley's parents are quite good at parenting. Of course they're not mind readers and thus limited in what they can do, but they're pretty much everything you can expect from caring parents.
  • You can tell how well written is the movie when even putting out the main theme, characters have good development, they still feel human, and Rileys acts are just as relatable and identifiable or even more. Fantastic film. Just a fantastic film.
  • I love how even without the emotions you can see a perfect story. This nails the point that Rileys emotions are just that, Emotions. Theyre not controlling Riley, theyre only part of who she is.
