How good is the GOOD GT 1030 these days?

The GT 1030's name was somewhat tarnished when Nvidia released the DDR4 version. Today though, I thought we'd take another look at the well respected GDDR5 variant, the graphics card that many SFF system owners would have purchased in order to give their systems a much needed graphical upgrade for less than $100.

Thanks for watching :)

  • I told santa to give me a rtx 2080ti. But I assume santa has some problem with his ear so he gave me a gt 210 for Christmas. Any way merry Christmas
  • "mid-20s isn't playable" Years of playing with Core i3-2120 integrated Intel HD 2000 and AMD R7 350X 4GB DDR3 downclocked to 400mhz core: you underestimate my power

Merry Christmas! I actually ironically went from this card to a 1070 as my Christmas gift

The GT 1030 when "New" was and excellent card to upgrade from integrated graphics or a slower older card. I still use my GT 1030 DDR5 model on my media center playing less demanding games. Titan Quest anniversary addition, Borderlands 2, Supreme commander, etc.. lowering settings or res helps a lot also when playing newer games in a pinch. Thanks RamdonGamingHD for reviewing this old favorite graphics card of mine. P. S. If you are unfortunate to get the DDR4 version it performs like the GT 730 variety. I'm keeping mine for as long as possible.
  • Since today is Christmas, let me tell you a joke GT 1030 DDR4
  • It wasn't designed for high-framerate gaming uh no, it wasn't designed to play AAA titles... it'll run most E-sport games just fine with quite respectable FPS
  • I have a gt 1030 m preety happy but just one issue and that is no gpu endcoder to record or stream
  • @JV-io3nn
Just upgraded my dying gt 635 for a gt 1030 and I couldn't be happier for what I paid for it compared to "better" options. I only run games at 720p, however, so they all run 60fps 99% of the time. I don't play many newer games...
  • @yeoss
how ironic, you're reviewing a gt 1030 again, while im literally getting it for xmas (it'll arrive on 8 jan 2019, although i expect it to arrive sooner)
  • You're a beast putting all these videos out. Happy Holidays and thanks for another video.
  • Merry Christmas an thank you for the great videos looking forward to see more in 2020 😁
  • It's a verry good graphics card for the price , got mine today and I can run most games that are from 2000-2017 with solid frames rates and 1080 resolution
  • Merry Christmas to you and yours. I actually just sold two entry-level gaming PCs this month one was an i5 3470 with a GT 1030 and the other was a W3690 with a GTX 570. I paid $70 for the GT 1030 and $27 for the GTX 570/ $30 for the 600w PSU. So for me, the $57 GTX 570/ PSU combo was the better deal. I tested both at playable settings and the GTX 570 match or beat the GT 1030 in every game. I expected the GT 1030 to beat the GTX 570 in modern games that required move VRAM but after lowering the setting the GTX 570 still matched or beat it. I tested both with the W3690 6 core/ 12 thread Xeon with a 3.7GHz all-core boost. In Mafia 3 ( which is very unoptimized) the GTX 570 was still able to do 720p around 60fps, but the GT 1030 was only doing about 40fps ( 55 /45fps while walking and dropping to 30/40fps while driving). Both were playable but the GT 1030 had noticeable frame drops where the GTX 570 did not. I would only go for a GT 1030 in SFF PC with a low powered PSU. But used you can easily beat it with a $30 to $50 USD GPU and a $30 PSU combo for the same price.
  • I appreciate how it's Christmas day and you release a very normal video of yours. No highlights or zero effort content. Thanks man
  • Merry Christmas my friend! Thanks for a fantastic year of uploads!
