  • I'm in single player on PC and the base pulls in hundreds of ore even when I'm nowhere near it. Seems like Xbox / multiplayer might have issues with that -BoomstickAlex

If anyone else are having issues with this, there is a good reason he mentioned those three mining pals specifically. You can't just use any pal with the mining trait, as they need to have a lvl 2 mining trait to mine ore. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I was doing wrong and why my pals were just wandering aimlessly or twitching in place. Placing a pal with a lvl 2 mining trait made it work perfectly.

If you don't want to drop the ore when you get back to your main base, you can use a grappling hook to pull you towards the chest! :D
  • Most comprehensive guide out there. Also this is the biggest grind in the game so far. Thanks. I think I need to disassemble my second base to do this. It's holding me back, big time.
  • @Kalo_
appreciate how you include related info like where to find the pals and pros/cons of each
  • @bjornskivids
That time-lapse segment was really cool to watch. Thanks for that.

INSANELY HELPFUL. At around level 30, I felt really stuck because I kept having to mine iron and it felt boring as hell since most of the resource collecting before hand was so, so automated. Good to know you can just easily automate that too! Appreciate you
  • Finally someone who knows how to record a guide and edit it perfectly.
  • Place a furnace next to the chest at mining base and use vanwyrms as your transporters as they have kindling and lvl 3 transport (with no other traits so they don't get side tracked)

Absolute legend. Noticed some of my mining pals weren't doing their job. This helps alot😊
  • @oz-sixx1622
you just earned a sub, i was actually looking for the best spot for this and you broke it down perfectly thanks

Awesome video. The king of automation you are.
  • Flawless video, automated base are my goal in these kind of games every time
  • You could also just put the furnaces at the mining base. No reason to drag the ore back to base just to refine it there. Your miners will have a lot of downtime once they clear the ore, so you may as well have like, 3 fire Pals with 3 furnaces to cook all that ore. One issue I find with Tombats is, they get very unhappy when working during the day. Thing is... there's no way to control that, they work during the day on their own. I have 3 hotsprings and full beds at the mining area, and half my Tombats are still always sick or refusing to work.

Additional detail that you might want to try out: If you can, you can replace the all the mining pals with Reptyro (spawned mostly East side on the volcano island, far west from the default spawn location). It hot there so prepare heat resitance gears They have level 3 in both kindling and mining, so you can have them smelt the ore they mine when they mined all the ore and is waiting for it to respawn. While leaving free kindling slot for other jobs at your main base. The con is that they're day time pal so they don't work overtime.
  • @Cxtherine.
This is so helpful, thank you so much for this video!! Will try this out asap
  • @higgsbonbon
Fantastic video! Hopefully we'll get some method of both automatically moving resources between bases and keeping tasks on an "always perform" state so we don't need to keep assigning things like smelting and grinding manually.
