Crushing is one of the greatest albums of the decade. The lyrics are chillingly beautiful and raw. It’s such a personal record that I feel like many artists wouldn’t dare to release and bare their soul like she has. Maybe it was just that this record came out and reached my ears at the perfect time and place but I have an incredibly personal connection with these songs. Julia and her band are a gift to the world. 💚🧡

just sitting in my bed, eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and crying my fuckin eyes out to this whole set. Julia Jacklin i love you

I was there in Perth when she played this album for the first time live. It was the most incredible experience - standing there in the rain, crying with the city lights twinkling behind. And then for her to release a song about our beautiful city a few months ago - man Julia is special. Now I am going through a breakup with my partner of 6 years - this album has been a beacon of hope and understanding - music is so special

With Julia Jacklin you know you can like the video before it starts no matter what
  • I hate when i hear about a band, i check when they're going to tour my city and then realize they already came a month ago....
  • How did KEXP know I’ve been listening to this non stop. Crushing is getting me through a divorce and I am forever indebted.

Julia Jacklin's lyrics are so powerful and raw. As soon as her first singles dropped for Crushing I knew this one was gonna hit me hard and draw out some emotions I wasn't aware would affect me so much. I actually met my current girlfriend at my first Julia Jacklin concert. So many of her songs resonated with both of us for our own separate reasons and it was crazy how many factors had to come into play for us to even meet each other let alone be standing next to each other on the floor. To add some weirdness factor to that our names are Julian and Julie... crazy.
  • Can you imagine how soul crushing it must be for the guy she wrote that song about...

This is album is moving & deeply personal. It’s become a part of my daily rituals. This record deserves all of the praise it’s receiving.

i love her album crushing so much, sure it's a break up album from a female point of view but having just broke up from my wife of 17 years this album has hit me hard, she has such a great way with words,i've cried so many times listening to crushing,it's an album that's never going to leave me and i can relate to this so much
  • Wow... That bridge on Turn Me Down was one of the best musical experiences I've ever had.

she's so... so ... wholesome. I felt every word, Julia. That's why you're so special to this world. You make us feel them. Cheryl Waters, you, too. You remind me of my mom. Love you all.
