My father was a sniper in the North Africa campaign in WW2. He used a modified Lee Enfield rifle with a telescopic sight. He knew he killed someone, a memory that never left him. He was captured by the Afrika Korps and spent the rest of the war in a German stalag in Poland. This movie for me captures the stories that my father told me.

Most snipers are detached and impersonal but there's real feeling in this and that's what makes it such a great scene.
