The way that they turn their heads to look at you just gives them so much personality compared to most insects.

I always loved the fact that praying mantises had "pupils" that looked around at you. It made their faces expressive in a way other bug faces aren't.

That was such a good way of explaining how the pseudo-pupil works. I never really thought about how it follows you around, but the straws made me understand immediately!
