At first, I thought that the baby was going to be put into the sculpture, as a resting place, and that attacking those who stop looking at it would be its revenge for not being watched closely enough. It would also make the instances of defecation make sense, as the baby wasn't potty trained.

As if trying to hide a dead body wasn't bad enough, the lady had to go to an occult store.

Lmao at this point seeing SCP-173 tied up and crying in the thumbnail is a running gag for this channel. That still doesn’t distract from the great content of the video itself!

Even when it's a "mainstream" SCP, the screenwriting and art from Dr. Bob makes it better. I seriously love this channel.

Usually when I think of a SCP I think of a supernatural creature. Never really thought about them being a normal human or used to be human.

Dr Bob, I think he fell a little bit into the “sad origin story” rabbit hole, but he still manages to make it into an AMAZING story.

If you have a partner like him, someone who belittles you and then tries to convince you it's your fault ... It is not. You deserve to be treated with respect. Maybe someone out there already knows this, but needs to hear it from a stranger.

This was a good one. A great origin story of how SCP -173 the sculpture came to be.
  • This backstory hit different, when she found the drowned baby I couldn't help but check the baby monitor next to me.

Who else watches Dr Bob. The scp community is the best. I love these videos. Keep being awesome
  • Disturbingly realistic portrayal of a poor woman unknowingly married to a misogynist
  • This feels like an awesome origin for SCPs in general, since SCP-173 is both the 1st and so iconic. Part of me felt that the SCP universe began with this incident.
  • I love the chronos eating his children painting but instead replaced the children with bananas

This is the first SCP Origin story I’ve seen that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. SCP Explained has been a huge let down for a few months at least, and I thought Dr Bob was going to start following their trend of videos, but he saved it with this one. This was great. It was dark enough and felt like something I hadn’t seen yet. SCP Explained just loves to self reference their own videos/stories, let’s not let Dr Bob fall down that dark self-serving path.

In SCP: Containment Breach, 173 is also called Billy.
  • @ErrNOT
Moral of the story: just buy paint from certified stores
  • @isaacpaz9287
I can honestly say this story would entirely reflect what I would do if that was my son. I feel I would drop dead after completion on my own as everything I had left is done nothing left remains. Such a dark place to think when your child is taken how much of your soul you just lose

One of the best SCP animation on youtube hands down. The tragic story of one of the most dangerous SCP!
