I hike this Sunday the 13th. The road to the trailhead is clear of any snow and debris. Also note there's no forest road which is awesome!. No special clearance vehicles needed.
You can start the trail 1 of 3 places. 2 of which are at heather meadows (2 different lots on the way up to Artist Point). The other is up at Artist Point.
Lots of parking at all 3 places, Forest Pass needed.
Bugs, if you do this hike counter clockwise we did not see of feel any bugs until we got to the Baker side of the trail which is about 2.75 . Its within line eye distance of Iceberg Lake. The closer we got to Hayes and Iceberg the more the bucks attacked.
The trail itself is well maintain, not too many roots to trip over.
The lakes are great for cooling off. Note most of the seasonal creeks are dried up. If you would like more details please feel free to watch my video. Happy Hiking!

    Hi there, I went a month ago I did it counterclockwise, the weather was very bad. I had a hard time picking up the trail because of the snow before started descending the two lakes. A week late, I did it clockwise, It was sunny and clear... it was much more enjoyable and there were a lot of hikers too. Thanks for the video.
