Many people have questions about if they can, or should, use collagen or gelatin in their Keto Chow. Many people find that if they have digestive issues with Keto Chow, adding some beef gelatin can help resolve those problems. Miriam and Chris discuss what complete proteins are, how collagen and gelatin differ in application, and how to successfully mix the gelatin into Keto Chow.

This is going out as a scheduled premiere because we're going to be unavailable for our normal daily live stream.

  • @Furluge
Yeah I remember being unhappy with the thickness of keto chow and I found xanthan gum or chia seeds helped a lot.
  • Thanks for the info! These are the exact answers I was looking for. Going order me some gelatin now!

Thanks! Been curious about Gelatin and you answered all my questions 😁
  • Thank you, I have noticed that I get nauseous after KC, I will definitely try the gelatine!
  • I have to try gelatine in my keto chow. I've been eating diet jelly recently and noticed that it helps my tummy. Plus I love my keto chow thick so this would be awesome. 😊
  • After gelatin blooms it has the consistency of the absorption material used in diapers.

Most days we make Keto Chow ice cream. Sometimes we add the dry keto chow mix to 0% Fage plain yogurt for a protein yogurt. And I just started making Keto Chow custard following 2 Krazy Ketos and Loving it on Keto´s recipes for the custard. I have yet to drink a Keto Chow shake...yet. I will, but there are so many delicious ways to enjoy it! Now I have to try the gelatin. I hope you are enjoying yourselves and getting some much needed rest and family time.
  • I made my first Keto Chow (Strawberry Cream) yesterday with my Vitamix. I was trying to make icecream, but it came out a milkshake. It was delicious, and I had no intestinal distress at all. I am happy to hear about the addition of gelatin. I have some (Great Lakes Kosher brand). I will try it today. I put that gelatin in hot broth with no problems.

shakes never bothered me too much. However, I got the Ninja Creami and had constant issues. Might be the air the machine adds, but I melt my butter in water, so will try splitting the water and adding the bloomed gelatin to the hot water I melt the butter with.

So after you put the warm gelatin in—can you put it in the fridge and it will be okay cooled?
  • Great information! I've been making gummies with beef gelatin. So, I believe it may be helping me gain some muscle. As a slender person doing keto for health reasons. I need that. Putting it in our kc sounds great. Thoughts?-Linda
  • Can you use plain gelatin or does it have to be a certain kind. Love keto chow but it is giving me gut issues.
